My Great-Grandfatherās toy shop was just up the road
Had a few of these printed, A3 sizeā¦very good quality prints on 300gsm Conqueror paper.
I have 3 leftā¦Ā£5 each to regularsā¦Ā£10 to passing trade. Message me here if you want one.
I can have more printed quickly if the demand is there.
Yes please
Just PM me your address and Iāll put one in a map tube and post it to you.
Oh, go on then. Iāll have one
As per the instruction to Goatee
The three I had left have now been taken but if others want a picture Iāll order more when I have another 5 orders.
Donation made (& the one I promised for not buying @SimplySaint ās old jacket, which I completely forgot to do)
I can let you have the brown suit I wore in that picture in 1937ā¦I still have it in the wardrobe somewhere.
Wouldnāt fit. Lockdown see & a modern post war (WW1) diet.
Yep, cheers lifer.
Did a little searching for the original b&w image and found out it was a photograph by Dutchman Willem Van De Poll
Do you know the date for the Bargate photo?
I was going to ask that too.
Initially I thought 1937-ish but the picture shows just the east side has a road around it.
The east side road was built in 1932 but the west side wasnāt cleared until 1937 so the picture can be dated between 1932 and 1937ā¦ergo circa 1935.
That aināt gonna be the caption in the frameā¦.
Maybe a scribble on the back
Iāll do a search through the online records for Willem Van De Poll to see when he was active in the UK. Maybe we can narrow the date span down a little.
Ah, I wondered why you were banging on about him. Thought youād absentmindedly forgot to post the picture of the day
