Wiki says by 1908 the whole of the church had been demolished.
Different site I think, John.
That looks like the one further up Church Road hill.
I’ll let the locals put me right though.
This church replaced an earlier building called St Mary’s Church which stood on a different site nearer to the River Itchen, (at 50.97224°N 1.33923°W). It had been rebuilt in 1825, but by 1908 had been completely demolished.
Humorous as this is, he has the Colin Firth defence and a corroborating hetero life partner in @SO5-4BW.
I believe I was christened in St Mary’s in Bishopstoke - the current edition and not the original. A dark day for Christendom and no mistake. Think Damien and Guildford cathedral.
Here’s me on a shocking day for The Church of England…my Aunt holds me whilst my Mother seems unaware that even at this age I was a practising atheist…

Inevitable.
Here’s the old St. Mary’s Church again.
Life in the slow lane is looking very pensive in the photo.

Well I posted this picture in August last year…just got round to colouring it up…will make a nice wall picture for a study methinks…
Nice! Can I post this on twitter? I’ll link it back to here.
Yeah why not.
Wow. Just wow. Top drawer LITSL. You’re right, I’d have that on my study wall.

That’s really excellent. Top job.
