Social Integration is not happening

i struggle with that too. I don’t like Women as a catch all, because it is derogatory, because it is a contraction of the old Anglo Saxon “Wo-Man”, or “Worse-Man”. I don’t like girls, cos it sounds bit patronising. Ladies sounds sarcastic, to my ear, and a bit Terry Thomas.

In midlands, they say Fanny. I.e. Went to pub last night. Any good? Yeah, ram packed with Fanny.

Lol.

Its up to you clowns to prove their breaking the law. The proof I have is the lack of prosecutions. Unless of course you’re the only ones who know they’re acting in this illigal way. Perhaps you should inform the authorities & get things changed . Failing that you could ignore it and post pony about it on a forum. Surely knowing these employers are discriminating against the fairer sex and not doing anything about it is tantamount to condoning it. Extremely sexist IMO

What jobs? This is not difficult? What jobs pay differently due to gender? I would have thought they would have been hauled before the courts? Don’t you? What bluster.

Asda:

The last sentence is the killer(for those that need help with FACTS)

About 9,500 past and current Asda workers from across the UK have signed up with the law firm Leigh Day, which will represent them in the pay claim next year. Lauren Lougheed, a lawyer at Leigh Day, said: “This is a dramatic victory for the workers we represent. Asda tried to argue that because the shops and distribution centres were in different locations, with different pay arrangements, that Asda could pay the men what they like. “However, the employment tribunal found that Asda, the employer of both men and women, could have made sure that there was equal pay between men and women if they wanted to, but chose not to.”

And in a nutshell you’ve pretty much summed it up…

What jobs? Asda union recognised? Were the jobs the same?

Come on Saint, same jobs?

And can this be moved to an equal pay thread? This has no meaning on social integration at all.

I had to google to find out cos i was interest. Turns out that men and women are always paid the same, but Asda pay more for warehouse jobs at distribution centers, than for checkout jobs at stores, and ppl are say this is cos forklift driving is dangerous man job, and sitting on arse scanning tinned beans is woman job.

They’re different jobs but enough similarities to be classed in the same pay bracket due to duties carried out.
The same job, title and hours?

No Barry. You asked "What jobs? This is not difficult. What jobs pay differently due to gender? I would have thought they would have been hauled before the courts? Don’t you? What bluster.

Last sentence Barry. What bluster indeed :lou_facepalm_2:

Stick to one thing at a time. Your all over the place.

Saint the jobs weren’t and aren’t the same, you’ll have to try again if that’s your best effort at proving pay inequality is alive and kicking in the UK, absolute total and utter bluster.
I can think of male models getting less money though.

So there is inequality then? Why have you been arguing for the past 3 days?

I’m more in sympathy than usual with barry tbh, cos him & duckbro seem to have spent the last few pages trying to justify the simple proposition that women and LGBT (aka chicks+poofs) have more equality in Aldershot than Afghanistan, and that seems quite likely to me. I dunno why ppl is argue about it really.

I think this thread is an early episode of Homeland…

Kept him off his usual subject. Good enough reason?

You asked for a company and a case, this is an example of that. Their whole case is based on the fact that their jobs are perceived as “women’s work” so payed less, even though it has the same value. Anything you have since changed/added is of no relevance.

A Tribunal believes that it is worth looking at. Why do you disagree?
