You’re making a categorical error, Baz. What you mean is that some people don’t integrate because of these things, but most do. It’s simply statistics. The means of the populations integrate pretty well but you always get the outliers.
You know that. We all know that. Give it a couple of generations and the kids of the immigrants will be as integrated as any one else. They may call themselves Muslim, or Jewish or Christian or Hindu, but for most that’s pretty nominal and, to all intents and purposes, they’re pretty secular.

What we have perfectly illustrated in this never ending thread is that Secularism is just as much a religion as any other. We also have the perfect illustration of Secular Extremists who like all religious extremist have the ONLY answer and that is there is only ONE WAY, MY WAY.
The British Isles is a huge hotch-poch of races moulded together over 2000 years, that integration is still going on today and will continue long after we’re gone. The process is an osmosis, not an instant conversion, the impatient focus on what they see as the negative aspects of that diversity.
It’s like going out on a first date and telling your date, you don’t like their hair and you think they wear too much make-up and next time wear trousers.

Back OT, I often think about the people of Hartlepool. When they hung that monkey, people there were so socially not integrated that they thought a representative of another species was a French spy.
The primate could have been both, I suppose - the French and army’s only failed foray into Monkey Infiltration Warfare. Outsmarted by the clever people of Hartlepool.
