Social Integration is not happening

Jesus Christ this forum is being infiltrated by absolute tossbags. And before anyone tries to second guess that statement, no, I’m not talking about your abhorrant views but more about the actual personalities coming through the keyboards. Fuck me what a bunch of patronising, self-righteous pricks. How some of you survive the day without someone smacking round the head I do not know.

It’s bit rough i suppose to judge someone entirely on what they post on dumb frm, but if I had to put forward the frms biggest brain to fight our cause in the gallactic brain-off, with humanities survival at stake, i don’t think tramp would be my First Choice.

This is a hilariously dumb post.

I didn’t like the bit where I got Told Off for not immediately defending Russia or pointing out it is LGBT paradise. “Not one of you took two minutes to google and find out homosex is not technically illegal in russia”.Not one of you! You cunts! Look forward to ur kremlin libel claim, pap.

I have fully intergrated into Filipino lifestyle, I can now ride around on 125 moped with no helmet or safety equipment whatsoever .Just like 95% of the rest of the population.

Not so smart that you know the name of your own Prime Minister though. I think you might find that you just failed the Tebbit Test!

P.S. People who feel the need to tell other people that they are smart generally aren’t.

Bae = boyfriend or girlfriend.

I haven’t got a reason why this genius can’t hyperlink though.

Ah I see, So he was being super smart then. Way too smart for me I’m afraid.

Having said that, anyone who holds the current “Western civilsation” up as some sort of ideal way in which to live and a yardstick as to the quality of other societies can’t be that bright.

I never like telling people that I’m smart. If you’re going to do it at all, damn yourself with faint praise. It’s one of the reasons I adopted the second rate web developer tag with such aplomb.

I ask again, why did you claim that the treatment of homosexuals in Russia and the Muslim world is equivalent?

It isn’t.

In one it’s not even illegal.

In the other it ranges from illegal to punishable by the death penalty.

Two minutes of Googling would have shown you this.

Now, what caused you to believe that? Why didn’t you fact-check your claim?

You’re obviously not approaching the topic from a neutral or open-minded point of view. You obviously have a conclusion that you want to arrive at. Why?

'Cause there are laws that can see people imprisoned for lgbt propaganda. Worded so loosely people can be thrown in jail for holding hands.

LGBT persecution is alive and well there. It’s not hard to find this out.

All this getting mad over a tiny part of what I was saying. Really not worth it. Who and where do you think you are?

Barry the legend has been saying this for years, why have we allowed cultural homophobia to exist alongside and with religious homophobia? We trample upon racism (selective of course but something is better than nothing I suppose) and equality for women (.same again as above) but not this? Was listening to World service this morning about Islamic states ie Pakistan, very interesting in the sense of their perception of the World and Islam, have a look.

No.

There’s no ‘not technically’ about it. Being gay in Russia is not illegal.

In almost all of the Muslim world it is illegal and in 10 counties homosexual activity is punishable by death.

The two are not “equally barbaric”.

I thought open-mindedness, neutrality and dispassionately looking at the evidence would be something lefties prided themselves on?

Shut up Bear we all know I was talking about you and your bragging about digging holes in the midlands or wherever it is.

I’m not so much mad at the mistake (I presume it was a mistake on your part rather than a conscious effort to deceive people) but the fact that literally noone on the forum popped up to say “ah now hang on a minute” is quite startling.

There was no kind of self-examination there. You guys obviously aren’t approaching the subject from a neutral, dispassionate point of view looking to examine the evidence.

You’re approaching it from the point of view of a lawyer who is consciously making the decision to ‘pick a side’ and defend one particular side because they feel that side is owed a form of rhetorical defence in the interest of balance.

And hey? Maybe there’s some value to that.

But at the moment you’re taking the ‘other side’ of the climate change ‘debate’ in the ‘interests of balance’. The answer is no. Russia is nowhere near as homophobic as the vast majority of the Muslim world.

Now, if you want to point the finger at several Christian countries in Africa, that’s another matter (and I’d actually be with you on that one as believe me, I really do dislike all religions equally).

When it’s perfectly acceptable for someone to be thrown in jail, and it’s not hard to imagine what happens to these people there, or people are beaten regularly in the street it’s hard to make a huge distinction whether it is legal or not. The outcomes are the same.

Again, LGBT people are openly persecuted in Russia. This isn’t up for debate.

You’re still missing the bulk of the point about my post. I’m glad you have mentioned about Africa, it’s another good example. I wasn’t referring directly to you, more the Ultra-Right-Rage-Machine’s - the likes of Breitbart or InfoWars - which peddle this crap about Muslims whilst lavishing praise on Russia.

The point I was trying to get at, and it seems other people understood that, is maybe we should look at tackling homophobia in all forms. Instead of just harping on about Islam without a great deal of self-examination.

But those on the right do love to jump head first into rage and blaming ‘different’ people for everything, so I doubt it’ll happen.

Tell you what, in order to settle the debate as well as make up, there’s only one thing for it.

We’ll spend 5 minutes making out in the middle of Red Square in Moscow and see how well we do, and then repeat the trick in the middle of Riyadh.

I’ve got a funny feeling we’d have to do Riyadh second…
