Medical organisations in England, Canada, Australia, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands and Germany all oppose infant circumcison on medival grounds (gotta love Google). Ah, I think I may have misinterpreted your original post then. Put as you’ve put it here, I agree with you, but I read your initial post as positing the existence of a “liberalism” which appeared to be a caricature of what I would understand by the term (but very close to the way I think that Barry understands the term). Judging by this post, you weren’t.

If you say so Barry. Although I think I have made some simple points and made them simply. First point being that I think the vast majority of immigrants do “integrate” so I disagree with your title for this thread which says integration isnt working. Second point Muslims arent the only culture to practice circumsizion but you seem to have singled them out despite the fact that the practice is commonplace in the USA amongst non Muslims.

My mates and I are pretty much the only white folk at what’s turned into literally a “bhangra Xmas party”.
Up there with the most fun ive had on Xmas eve.
Not saying it proves everything is perfect, but integration or not, it’s effing great fun.

Labour MP Chuka Umunna, who chairs the all-party group, said a “meaningful” integration programme would be needed when the rules are changed after Brexit.

Something I have been saying all along, if Labour addressed this before they’d be closer to the tories and the EU vote would have been closer.

I personally don’t agree that it is the government’s duty to enforce integration, particularly as it fails in many of its other duties so spectacularly.
Chuka is also talking out of his hoop. Extremists were allowed to operate here long before 9/11; the Paris Metro bombings of 1995 were planned by an Algerian cell operating out of London.
The wars facilitated by Chuka’s wing of the party also created a fuckload more.
Umunna’s point only really works if you don’t have a memory, or have difficulty tracking the cumulative effect of some very bad decisions.
It is a huge mistake of his and yours to believe that “lack of integration” is the issue.
