Here we go splitting hairs to try to prove a point, Cherts, Legal position Both active euthanasia and assisted suicide are illegal under English law. Depending on the circumstances, euthanasia is regarded as either manslaughter or murder and is punishable by law, with a maximum penalty of up to life imprisonment. Assisted suicide is illegal under the terms of the Suicide Act (1961) and is punishable by up to 14 years’ imprisonment. Attempting to kill yourself is not a criminal act in itself. This is good as it further proves my point of a case by case basis, accept and move on Cherts. Murder isn’t just murder.

Nothing there describes murder Barry, which I think is why we’re confused! The only type of Euthanasia which is murder is Involuntary Euthanasia, everything else is not murder. It is killing, but not murder, and that is an important distinction.

From what I can tell you see all types of killing as murder.

You’ve lost the plot, I give up, if you can’t read the bit where its says

“Euthanasia can be regarded as murder”

and accept that, well I can’t do anymore.

“I’ve presented my case your honour and it now rests with the jury.”

He said he’d given up and that was it - stop prodding him with truth sticks!

I don’t need to bite it says it up there, he just follows me wherever and argues night is day.

Its sweet really.

Cherts,

Can Euthanasia be regarded as murder?

Yes or No?

So the jury can clearly understand.

Yes.

Thank you Cherts now fuck off.

A warm feeling has come all over me…

You answered the question albeit longer than needed and the jury shall now consider it.

Thank you for your time Mr Chertsey.

Just let it go.

The jury is out the back talking through the case, its too late. The judge is now on the ale by the Thames.

I much prefer the short, sharp bouts of arguing rather than pages of protracted, drawn out, tedious shit. You should limit the posts you make to each other to something like 10 a day (of max of 400 characters).

I have some hairs and as a matter of urgency I could really do with them being split by a specialist, does anyone have a contact in the trade?

I’m also struggling to find someone who insists on having the last word - any ideas?

All help appreciated.

And my point is after being charged with murder their tariff would be different from others, all crimes are treated on a case by case basis. My point, and with that you can find others to points to argue but not for me, I’ve made my case and point and I’m out on murder is murder.

Park assisted killing/euthanasia because that is something else entirely, but are you then saying there are “good” murders and "bad "murders? Would you say, for example, that a so called “Honour Killing” is worse than stabbing an old lady to death if she tried to stop you robbing her home? You may well be out on murder is murder, but in the eyes of the law, if you are found guilty of taking a life with intent, you are a convcted murderer. Not a convcted “Honour Killer.” A convicted murderer.

Welcome to today’s episode of Language Games with your host Barry Sanchez and his glamorous assistant Chertsey Saint.

That would be up for the Judge to decide not a simpleton like me, all I am saying and I am correct is there are different tariffs for murder and crimes.

Judges have discretion, that is why they form an opinion of a case and well, judge.

If we want an ask Barry “silk” Sanchez thread we can and I’ll answer your questions concerning law accordingly.

Lets keep this thread on track.

It is on track. You seem to be saying that Honour Killings are worse than other murders. Am I wrong?

No I am saying they are different, because as I explained quite clearly not all murders are given the same tariff, your confusing a charge with a sentence, if they were the same why aren’t they given the same sentence?
Why the need for a judge the jury finds them guilty?
Why have and use lesser sentencing after the initial charge by the CPS?
The Judge passes sentence.

I am not confusing anything. Yes the judge will pass sentence on a convicted murderer because he has been found guilty of commiting the crime of murder. If someone commits an Honour Killing he is still a murderer. Ergo, murder is murder, which is the point I have been making all along. I’ll leave it there now because this thread is supposed to be about the perceived lack of integration by pesky foreigners.

Ha Ha I did say that up there but you persisted, thank the Lord you can’t pass sentence, Jesus.
Murder is Murder, very Thatcher.
