:snooker: Snooker

O’Sullivan complaining about the cleanliness or otherwise of Ally Pally. The management naturally mount a robust defence of hygiene around the venue, blissfully ignoring the inescapable fact that refs are routinely having to swipe the flies off the fucking snooker tables mid-frame on a daily basis. :joy::joy:

And Judd has had a wasp on his waistcoat for all of the 129 break he’s just made

Plus it’s following straight on from the Darts Worldies with all those fat cunts pissing it up, belching, farting, spilling beer and puking up in the bogs. I’m with Ronnie on this one.

To be fair Ronnie is a bit of a “clean freak”

“I’m a bit of a clean freak and when I come in here it gives me the heebie-jeebies. I just can’t wait to get out of here.”

Trump is having more jam than a Hartley’s factory in the 8th frame, missing easy shots and putting Carter in trouble.

Carter looks like a player who’s already lost the game in his head. Taking on pots that seem like he doesn’t want to take on but feels he ought to, and duly missing with an air of inevitability.

…and after Trump takes an age to hit a red out of a snooker with the cue ball replaced several times, Carter plays an abysmal attempt at the easiest of snookers to lay. With all the pressure off himself and on Trump. And although Trump misses a straightforward red on match ball, Carter now needs up to the pink with that ball on the cushion.

Unbelievably, Carter levels for a decider :dizzy_face::smile:

Trump going for the position instead of just making sure of the red

I still had him as favourite after that. Surprised it’s gone to a last frame.

Good pink from Carter to be fair…

Carter through to the final.

When he’s drinking water between table visits, Mark Allen always has the haunted look of an air crash survivor who’s just been pulled from the wreckage after witnessing the gruesome deaths of his fellow passengers. The way he holds the drink with both hands, knees drawn up, and gazing vacantly into the middle distance.:smile:

Superb comeback after 1st session by Ronnie.
Some distractions from the crowd may have upset Ali.

Masters 2024: Ronnie O’Sullivan wins but Ali Carter criticises ‘some morons’ in Alexandra Palace crowd -

There cannot be many sports where you can be at the very top for 30 years - amazing really

The problem there is that he’s marked himself now. Remember the Davies/Meo final, last frame, I think only pink and black left and some kid called out “Come on, Steve” as Meo was about to play his shot? Causing him to stop and reset himself, then missing the pot, with Davies going on to pot his own next shot to win frame and title? Davies referred angrily to the incident in his immediate post match interview with Dickie Davis, suggesting that something had to be done about it as everyone could see what had happened. In contrast, when Tony Meo was then invited to comment he flatly refused to criticise the crowd, saying simply “what can I say? I blew it.” I always thought that was not just classy but eminently sensible of him.

Right up there with “Get in the Hole”

Maybe fair enough if someone is attempting a putt from 60 feet, but teeing off on a 600yd par 5? - fuck off

It’s more the timing of it, if you’re on your down swing or in the middle of your cuing action it can really put you off…

Indeed.

Nope…the golf ball isn’t equipped with a brain or ears, so it’s not going to respond to encouragement or threats. “Get in the hole!” is just a look at me I’m a prized dick comment.
