Should the rich pay for your kid's free lunch?

She is a part of the establishment, she hasn’t the poorest schools in the area on her doorstep, what would you do in my situation?

I know your posts and that is how I am judging you

That’s comforting.

Pap I am asking you again, what would you do in my situation, you know Speke and the surrounding area, what would you do?

Go back Barry. My answer has been there all along.

Then again, don’t bother. There’s every chance you’ll change your stance in a day or two.

Can i sit in your corporate box now?

I’d move, Barry.

Having a mate who gets them has nothing to do with a political stance you whopper. You haven’t answered to the situation I am in you tit, answer the question now you have a bit more information and not your ignorant shite, a school failing and losing pupils to elsewhere, this school has had millions thrown at it but still its failing, what would you do, oh I know this bit you’d send your kids to one of the worst schools in the Country as your principle is to support the state and its education system, ha ha I’d to see how that would work out here.

So after all of that you and I are not that far apart on the issue? Why didn’t you say 15 pages ago? Only Saint to convince now, I think he has cooked his goose now, if he comes up again take him to Speke for us, I’ll pay the taxi.

Barry - the houses round your way are getting on for half a mil, if not more.

In earlier posts, you said you were going to move to Halton, which isn’t Speke.

Why isn’t moving an option?

Moving is an option, where did I ever and I repeat ever discount that?

There’s a big difference between moving to an area with strategic benefits and sending your kid to The Expensive School for Well To Do Whoppers.

We got lucky. We were already living in an area with an excellent school, but I would have had no compunction in moving if we hadn’t.

You can bet that Diane Abbott doesn’t live in the shit estates in Hackney. If she can move away then so can you, Barry.

I don’t disagree but I’ll say it again for the “play the poster not the post” tits, I said all along I am willing if we could afford and we were still here we’d look at all the options as would you send your kids to ESLA? You went quiet on that and I can only assume you agreed on my stance, I didn’t what to embarrass you on your position as it was my fight and not yours, Saint is speaking from a persepctive I agree with but he is speaking from a perpective thats removed from a reality on the ground, if there were good schools, it would be state, even average, but fuck me some of the worst in the Country and you put your principle on your kids, fuck that, fuck that totally.

So another mover hey? I don’t disagree. Options and choices, we’re lucky to have them.

OK Barry, here’s what i think you should do.

Stop being so hypocritical, or stop being so abusive about others views, it all looks a bit silly now. The name calling is a bit half hearted as well. Do it with some conviction, or give up.

The answers always been there Barry. Look again.

Is that a no, about the seat?

So moving house seems to be the option

If we did away with independents what would happen is parent would buy in the best schools catchment areas creating housing bubbles. The poor / disadvantaged will be priced out and they will end up in the worst performing schools in the cheaper parts of town.

So you would be in a situation where nothing much has really changed except that the state now has to educate another 600k kids.

Sorting out the education system is the solution.

It’s still good policy to get fee-paying parents to fund school meals for every primary school child.

Saint go back through it, I believe you likened me to a reptile and despised people like me for doing so or what proposals I made, you also called me a tory and all the like first.

Your answer is for me to send my children to some of the worst schools in the Country due to a principle I hold, that would make me a cunt to do so, go back and read it, now go and abuse others who advocate moving.

Off you tootle, you could have a busy day abusing everyone wanting the best for their kids, have a read son and then have a word, you threw the names out first.

So, in conclusion:

If you live in an area with shit schools you have 3 choices:

  • Send your kids to a shit school.

  • Move.

  • Send your kids to a private school.

Glad it’s taken us 17 pages to get to that.

As an aside, my little girl starts school in September, and she’s going to a state school. Any tips on how to keep her away from the ‘common’ kids? :lou_wink:
