If the numbers are there the fixed term parliament is redundant.

Bollocks Barry
If there is a fixed term in the UK you only need to go back to the public if there is a vote of no confidence in the house it matters not what the public think.

Thats absolutely dreadful.

Yes and that was my point, where did I refer to the public?

So what or who were you referring to then?
Please give me a clue.

That the 5 year Governments aren’t set in stone, they can change and in fact did even in the first cycle of them being implemented.

Nothing is more undemocratic than a Coup d’état, according to Alfred de Zayas and it’s his job to know these things.

I’ve no doubt its probably true or in the very least they’re helping popular support grow against Maduro, nation states do that, why is anyone surprised? Oh its the West doing it, when its Russia its fine and retaliatory…

I don’t think we are surprised because it’s been going on for so long - other countries meddle in other countries. I think your issue is with other posters and your view of what they think/support. We are discussing Venezuela on this thread. We can make comparisons with other places but lets not get too drawn into those discussions -there’s threads for them.

But Venezuela is a pawn and proxy between the US and Russia, same with Iran now, Ukraine and quite a few others, nearly all the World issues return to the US, Russia and China, they’re the power brokers.

I would normally put something like this in the Planet Earth thread, but as we all know, Venezuela has a lot of oil(heavy) and America wants it, badly.
We get the deniers saying America has lots of Shale oil(light & tight), so why is Venezuelas oil so important?
The answer might be diesel.
You can’t make diesel from Shale oil. They thought they could mix Shale oil(light) and Canadian tar oil(very heavy) to get approximately the mid range that they can refine, to produce diesel.
It’s not working and damaging refineries in the attempt(Venezuelan oil is perfect for this process). This is a massive problem, that could devastate such an energy greedy economy(think of everything that stops with no diesel).
The problems get worse, when you add shipping being made to transition off of heavy oil fuel. If they go diesel, there’s a lot more demand for a diminishing product. This may also be the real reason Europe has turned against diesel(they know what’s coming?).
So Venezuela now becomes so much more important and them doing deals with Russia, China and now India, whilst contemplating leaving the petro dollar is a disaster for the failing empire.

Its much simpler than that and involves oil, shale and diesel but many other things that come under the banner of geopolitics and influence.
Russia are in South America solely for that purpose, influence, why is China in Africa building?

Your European and diesel turning back on it is wrong as well, are you saying Governments were right and big business wrong in the consumption and pollution of diesel?
One has to be.

How can it be simpler than a single cause, but include a multitude of reasons?
America wants to destroy democracy in Venezuela, to steal it’s resources. No other reason.
I only offered a more specific reason, than just saying oil. Everyone already knows, the only reason behind the obvious lies, is oil.
Will you not get paid, if you fail to mention a certain country a certain amount of times per day?

If you comment on the US you can’t defend Russia when it does the same, thats all I am saying, its makes you a hypocrite.
