:pl: :saints: Saints v Manchester United :manunitedfc: (ON BT SPORT)

I walked back to mine. Fuck, I didn’t realise how big West Derby is. I crashed out and have only just woken up.

Done up drinking wise by @Nottarf-Krap. I am a fucking lightweight. Great little sesh though.

Sorry about your bollocks, @ericofarabia

Well, that was really encouraging. A great result, but more importantly we can see the team developing a style again.
Clearly a long way to go, lots of work but it no longer seems like platitudes
Inexperience, sharpness, keeping going when we go a goal down (confidence) and, a bit of luck all need to be dealt with before we get carried away, but finally I can see a project not excuses.
Yes Vestergaard had a good game, but he did have a Burnley style ball over his head judgement moment, this time we got away with it.
A work in progress, an improvement each week

I enjoyed watching that.
Oh and why wasnt there commentary working on the OS? Was all tuned in, logged on and nothing

Glad to see that the coordination of Operation Target Twats’ Taters worked like a charm, @pap.

The record should show that Bucks’s balls were bathed in Unity Conflux.

On a related note, it was good to finally meet @Nottarf-Krap.

Always meet your heroes

I also very much enjoyed hearing @ericofarabia’s quite familiar tales of being unable to escape the massive gravitational force that is Leigh, Lancashire.

The ring road doesn’t have any exits

Really enjoyed the match yesterday and great to add @Saint-or-sinner to my faces to names list.

I’d like to see the replay of their goal again as it looked like Cedric was at fault. Others at the pub suggested that it was cute play and switching and overloading by Man Utd.

I thought our press worked really well at times and there was a definite tactic (like under Poch) to pin their defence back from a goal kick. De Gea had to kick long and we won possession back quite often.

Boufal impressed me - his attitude and work rate were excellent. I think we were unlucky that we never got him on the ball with Adams and Ings all running at Utd. I think if we had been able to we’d have created more.

I’m not sure that Danso is the solution to the “who’s our left wing-back?” question but he’s pretty solid defending at left back and did a decent job until his brain fart.

I was totally impressed with our attitude when we went down to 10 men. I won’t say I was certain we’d shut them out, but I was very confident.

Our central midfield was excellent buzzing in and around Pogba and dispossessing him more often than not - only for Mike Dean to blow for random infringements only he could see.

An excellent performance and an excellent point.

Likewise, it was good to meet up and get extremely drunk.
I’d blame Cedric, purely because, even i knew what James was going to do, so why didn’t Cedric.
Apart from that it was a very good game with a great atmosphere inside the ground.

Don’t worry about it mate. We didn’t have one in the Stadium either. :lou_wink_2:

Cedric didn’t shower himself in glory but in fairness to him Mata was overlapping James on the outside so if he had closed James down quicker he’d have completely sold himself and Mata would have been free to cut in. A bit of a catch 22 but he probably chose the wrong option by failing to acknowledge the more dangerous of the two scenarios.

Alcohol abuse … at least no proper beer was harmed!! I had a couple of beers in the The Hole in The Wall on my meandering way back to the station!! Feeling surprisingly spritely today!!

If someone puts a date well in advance for a piss up I can do, I’m down south in a few weeks for a piss up (the weekend before the skate game) but it’ll family etc etc but meeting up for ale is a favourite passtime of mine so it’d be good to have a session with the punters on here.

Taken out of context…I was emotional having spilt most of my half time fizzy lager over a young man’s bollocks and he refused my offer to exchange underpants.

That’s a Trafford accent, right there.

Lots of these occurences going on this weekend? Probably better than actually drinking lager anyhow, even though the unfortunate recipients may not think so!! :grinning: I am talking from experience here!!
