Quite a few things just don’t seem right at present. Mainly the pedestrian style. Watching saints is like watching a 90 minute long Barclays advert for ā€˜walking football’.

But also:

Midfield - can’t score for toffee. Not one of them can shoot from distance either. Oh how I’d welcome a Gylfi Sigurdsson. Boufal has shown in glimpses that he can but hasn’t played enough. Tadic is capable but bizarrely unwilling.

Steven Davis - I don’t know if its age catching up on him or the formation but Steven Davis has been largely anonymous this season. I’m a firm believer in the unsung hero work he does and he’s missed when he’s not played but at the moment he isn’t influencing games.

Redmond - after my whinge earlier he skipped past their right back twice in a row! But he needs to do that more and drive in to the box. Not just square it up and pass to one of the aforementioned midfielders on the edge of the box who cannot hit a barn door. He is SO obviously a winger it is unreal how we had to endure the ā€˜Henry era’ for so long.

BIG game on Sunday now. Middlesbrough are exactly the wrong team to be playing though! They’ll be compact, frustrate and the Gaston will inevitably score a long range screamer to take it 0-1.

As good as Thierry Henry my arse. I’ve as much chance as redmond has of aspiring to those heights

The Thierry Henry comparison was a bit of a PR gaffe. Way to put pressure on the bloke.

So how come they let a load of their supporters in the Kingsland and wondered why people started to get pissy.

why did they not chuck out the dick heads with the palestine flags.

nice touch to play the Emerson lake a Palmer song at half time

Greg Lake had a better fucking game than Redmond.

To soon Rallyboy :slight_frown:

Claude just confirmed that ā€œfor nowā€ Austin is ā€˜injured’. Thanks Claude…

Dont worry lads, I only read that and didn’t have to listen to him. (Insert sarcy face emoji)

Got a bad feeling he dislocated his shoulder, hope I’m wrong :lou_surprised:

Looked like collar bone or dislocation - minimum six weeks.

said Dr RB from a distance.

The way Jenas was talking in the commentary he was saying that Austin can essentially ā€˜run off’ a dislocated shoulder. Hmmm not sure about that one. What is for sure though is that we are royally fucked without him. All jokes aside, I’d give Virgil a go up front in his absence. Fuck it.

Pity Jenas can’t run off a pea sized brain.

BTW can someone please ban the goat from starting match day threads. Ta.

We set out to not concede.

That was a mistake.

Impressed by Claude’s ability to rotate the squad and get the same sort/level of performance from the players.

Not impressed by the tactics last night, but overall I’m impressed that he can get his ideas over to the players - they seem to work for him and we are generally well organised.

Not impressed with our transition from defence to attack. It seems that the message is ā€œdo not concede possessionā€ more than it is ā€œtry to score a fucking goal!ā€.

Some of our supporters booing Redmond :lou_facepalm_2: :lou_facepalm_2:

The rest of our supporters providing dam near zero atmosphere for 70 minutes :lou_facepalm_2: :lou_facepalm_2: :lou_facepalm_2:

The entire crowd going completely silent once they scored, instead of trying to motivate the comeback of all comebacks :lou_facepalm_2: :lou_facepalm_2: :lou_facepalm_2: :lou_facepalm_2:

Some of the bilge I heard last night about Les Reed

ā€œReed in ripping off Kat by trousering most of the transfer proceedsā€

ā€œReed has appointed Claude because that way he get to pick the teamā€

ā€œReed is one of Rupert Lowes merry menā€
