:pl: :Saints: Saints v Crystal Palace :crystalpalacefc:

ST prices for next season will be interesting.

The sooner we ditch this shitty 4-2-2-2 formation the better. I was all for giving Selles a chance next season but not if we carry on playing that system. No fight, no spirit, no movement, over run in midfield, ponderous sideways passing and no proper captain. Very poor on what should have been a “leave it all on the pitch” type of game.

Absolute bunch of feckless wankers - they couldn’t give a toss.

No fight
No urgency
No movement
No hope
No point

In Aug 2021 we signed Broja and AA to replace Ings. Broja was very good for several months. You could understand why AA was signed and he at least scored a belter on his debut.

Roll forward to the end of the season. Broja buggers off (attitude issues too, apparently) and AA has not worked out. Two strikers down, effectively

But our board leave it until August 2022 to sign a striker. We put all of our eggs in the Gakpo basket. We leave that totally unrealistic basket until the final day of the window, with no alternatives.

We end up with no one (apart from Mara). The rot started in May 2022. We dont score remotely enough and that has killed us. The board needs a rocket up its collective arse.

Armstrong finishes his chances as well as you finish your sentences :lou_wink_2:

Thank goodness it’s only Football.

OK, so nearly 24 hrs on from the shitshow of yesterday and another moment of reflection reading all the Club “interviews” after the game.

I love JWP … the sense of anticipation when he stands over the ball, blah, blah. So I’m going to be a bit controversial here … I think some of the senior players like JWP are the problem. What the fuck was all that corner routine bollocks with Sulemana yesterday? Get a fucking grip … you’re the captain. Equally how hard do you have to hit corner kicks ? If you were unlucky enough to get your head on one of JWPs corner kicks, it would polax you. Float the bastard in and create some opportunities.

How many times do we see JWP bring the ball away from Bedrock or KWP, only to step on the ball to deceive the imaginary opposition player and then either backward or sideway pass it ? Receiving the ball with your back to the goal and tapping it straight back to the passing player … wtf is that all about ?

I was musing on Palarse and how better they looked without Zaha … maybe we’d look better without JWP ? Just saying ('cos I’m fucking sore still). SCD

Yes the corner bollocks were just that, is there nobody else in the team who can take a corner?
JWP is one of the best strikers of a ball in the Premier League, he should be on the edge of the box to strike any loose clearance that comes his way. Would you have had MLT taking corners?

How many of his corners land on the head of one of our players?

Well yes. Because he regularly put them on the head of Ruddock or Kevin Moore and we scored from them.

This season we’ve scored ONE and that was a side foot volley by Caleta Car against fucking Grimsby in the Cup. So nothing in the PL and it took till Ralph’s last game, against Newcastle, for us to win a header. I struggle to recall any keeper having to make a save.

At least we tried something yesterday, but fucking Aribo blazed it over.

To be fair, it’s not just corners. We struggle to score from any situation, apart from JWP free kicks in the Goldilocks zone.

Not many

The thing is they don’t have to be headed towards goal to create chances.
