I was there. We were shit
I wasnât there. It was still shit.
I was too. Your assessment is very perceptive
In the cold light of day, a more reasoned review:
I do wonder if thereâs a bit of Ralph psychology going on for the benefit of the owners. Playing second string players in fairly meaningless games for them to show how average they are and demonstrate the need to strengthen? Whilst Tella had his moments, the only moments Redmond had were bad ones. And whatâs the message to AA? (Although Long did Longy things quite well. We looked toothless once he went off and no-one could hold the ball up)
Redmond was really poor. I didnât understand why SA didnât start ahead of him, or Elyounoussi although I believe heâs observing Ramadan. I also thought Forster might have done better with at least the first goal. It was so disappointing as you could see the energy and commitment fading after they scored. We stopped working to press and win the ball then in possession lost patience and control. Too many hopeful balls that they won back easily.
And a final thought: our strikers havenât scored a single PL goal since February. And only one if you include the attacking 10s. But still AA doesnât get on the pitch. Maybe we should start that 16yo who got a hat trick the other day.
