Saints Stoke the fear of relegation

Fair and realistic report

Have you been watching Major League again, Phil?

Nah mate. Hawaii Five-0 unfortunately.

He wanted a rumour. Surely that is better than the blackmail photos rumours which are the only ones we have had of late.

Or this one…

Good assessment from @fowllyd I reckon… Although I agree Redmond improved as the game went on he still spent too much time dithering.

That Boufal miss was reminiscent of Prutton’s miss at WBA when we went down in 2005. I hope it’s not as costly.

On the subject of meltdowns for spineless / gutless performances…

Brighton 2 to the good against Arsenal - so far…

I think I first said this in October on here, the squad, the parachute payments and tv deals plus the sale of the club will reimburse the Chinese and big Kat, all the players will get a move and we’ll ever sol quietly go on with a whimper.

pathetic

Hmmm

That may not be a rumour.

New source came in with more details

Hi all, finally back in Carrotland after the 450 mile round trip to let Saints entertain me and Tyke. I didn’t want to (or even feel inclined to) post last night as it felt like after breaking up with your first girlfriend. I’m not even sure today what the fuck happened. I even just found myself on the club site thinking ā€œshall I watch the match highlightsā€ in the vague hope that it wasn’t nil nil after all and I must have missed the goal when I went for a piss. Then I remembered I didn’t go for a piss as it was too fucking cold to move.

I’ve never felt the need to go ā€œAll Barryā€ and I probably have been in the ā€œit’ll be okā€ camp but WTF did I witness yesterday ? I can’t think I’ve seen much worse ? Yes there were glimmers of hope but we just never looked like scoring. Thank fuck neither did they.

All you calling for MaPe’s head I’m not sure it will make much difference now, it’s too late. Just remind yourselves that it wasn’t MaPe who was out there taking 15 (yes fucking fifteen) corner kicks and not one goal from any of them. Not one. Not anything.

Maybe we’ll still be ok ? Maybe not. Can’t fret about it any more.

On a positive, Sims looked lively (although please, please, please fuck him off from any more of those pathetic short corners ever again), Redmond looked back to his old self (whether that was ever good enough I’ll leave for others to piss and moan about) and Lems is just Lems.

WTF has happened to Oriel ? WTF has happened to Gabbi ? WTF has happened to Cedric ? Talk about a collective bad day at the office …

On to the next game. Please don’t call it a ā€œmust winā€ and please … no more ā€œ6 pointerā€ shite.

We limp on. CD

Sorry guys I was at a work meeting.

So I commented for NYS on a very unsubstantiated rumour. Because he asked.

Completely unrelated I heard from a reliable but non forum reader additional parts of the same rumour that bring it into a 10% likely scenario.

I can only post for now follow Lander Sports annual report That will indicate the bullshit factor better

WTF has happened to Gabbiadini? He isn’t being picked for the starting eleven that’s what happened. After coming on for the last ten minutes v West Brom last week he scores a cracking last minute equalizer, showing what we all know anyway, (apart from our esteemed manager it would appear), that he is far and away our best option for scoring goals. So what does Pellegrino do? Relegates him to the bench in the next game, preferring useless cunt Tadic. It makes absolutely no sense, especially at home to Stoke, in a game that we must win, giving the upcoming fixtures. So we, so predicably, end up drawing 0-0. Again. I know it gets boring to keep on saying it, but what is Pellegrino’s game plan here? Does he really think that playing Tadic instead of Gabbi up front will produce more goals? If he does he is surely deluded. Is he on 10 per cent of any transfer fees when the likes of Lemina or Boufal go to his old club Liverpool? Whatever, all the evidence is that he is clearly fast tracking us out of the Premiership with his inept tactics and team selections.

And yes it wasn’t ā€˜MoPe’ out there taking 15, yes 15 corners and no goals resulting, it wasn’t Ward Prowse either was it? Who, if you leave our best striker on the bench, is clearly our best option for a goal at set pieces. So, of course our esteemed manager leaves him out as well. Absolutely clueless.

Does it occur to you that perhaps Gabbiadini is being used as a substitute because of his form, and not the other way round? I still don’t think he’s looked the same player since his injury last year - or maybe the Gabbiadini we thought we had this time last year was a flash in the pan that was never going to last. Either way, one of his contributions yesterday was to find some space in the box rather neatly, only to then perform an air shot when the ball was played in for him. And Gabbiadini has started a fair number of games this season I think (and last season after his injury as well) - he’s not looked too convincing in any of them and has scored very few goals.

Two points on Tadic. First, he’s a midfielder and not a striker, so if Gabbiadini were to play from the start it wouldn’t be in place of him (I wouldn’t be averse to playing Gabbiadini rather than Carillo, but that’s another matter altogether). Second, Tadic played well yesterday - he was certainly worth his place.

It is not shocking to me how poorly the likes of Cedric and Bertrand are performing. Add Romeu, to that list as well. They clearly are suffering from the VVD syndrome. They are not interested in SFC anymore, they want a move to bigger and better things. Which of course they will get if we are relegated. Not in their interests to see us stay up now. Quite the opposite.

We’ve got the 10th best form in the league over the last 6 games - losing only 1 in that time.

I’m not setting out to wind people up with that stat, just asking if that surprised anyone?

I’m sure a cautious coach like Pellegrino would point to that stat with some pride, and I’m sure many on here will rightly talk about context - who we’ve played, too many draws etc.

Is Pellegrino having a good 2018 by his standards?

For me it is game over. Despite the lack of wins, the manager continues to play each and every game exactly the fucking same. Talk about doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome. Never enough people capable of scoring goals on the pitch at the same time.

The Manager seems completely oblivious to players form. It took an absolute age for him to drop Forster and Redmond. Then Hog Pog came in and played well, whilst Romeu has been consistently bang average all season. Then Lemina came good again so he drops Hog Pog.

We have won five games in 29. We will need to win at least 3 in the next 9. 1 in 3. It just isn’t going to happen is it. Especially given the fixtures.

I feel we are doomed but the most disappointing thing is that we are going down on our knees with a whimper.

Whilst it is ā€˜only football’, it is still supposed to be enjoyable to an extent. It ain’t.

I don’t mind draws. Draws are ok! I mean, if you follow a run of draws with a Win, them draws look pretty sweet!

Admittedly, if you follow a run of Draws with a Loss you are fucked, but let’s not think about that rip.
