šŸ•µļøā€ā™‚ļø 🤳 Saints - Post Spygate

So, now the appeal has failed and we are out of the final on Saturday, what are your predictions for what Saints will look like at the start of next season. Will you still go to games? Who will be manager? Who stays and goes from the Board (assuming Solak doesn’t sell)? What will that starting 11 look like for the first game away to Lincoln?

Personally, I’d like to see Solak sell the Club as SR have been a monumental clusterfuck, but that won’t happen as he’d have to take a serious loss.

Board - Parsons needs to go. Imbecile. Ankersen still being there in August will rile me up too. Need a new leadership duo to replace these two.

Manager - Ideally, Scott Parker.

Starting 11 - Got to think about that one!

We need some stability - and a couple of deep breaths and a bit of nose holding

Assuming that Tonda doesn’t get a ban - is there any scenario where he could stay - after all he did oversee a pretty decent run even if it was augmented

More pain to come

I can see Tonda getting sanctioned. Also, if the Club (as their Statement) say they are going to demonstrate humility and contrition, it will be difficult to keep him in post and show that, unless there is some ghastly public hand wringing from him, which I don’t see him doing. But he was good and got a lot out of the squad. I liked the shithousery he seemed to give them license to do, shame it went too far!!

There is a lot of fall out still to fall out, it’s going to take months for the dust to settle and I doubt it will be settled before the new season starts.

Whilst I welcome the players expressing their sympathy and thanks to fans … the best way they can repay our loyalty is to stay and get is back up the table. I come back to the fact that whilst we did wrong, it was naughty and silly and unnecessary but its kind of ridiculous rather than despicable. There has been a trial by a social media tidal wave of fake self righteousness form rivals and those with most to gain… and I may be a stubborn bastard, but FFS, it was sending youngsters to take a few vids to ADD to the hours of footage from games… wrong yes, but we now need some fair reflection and perspective. Not witch hunts that will only take us even lower. Contrition, mea culpa for sure, but given we got done for observing training sessions a few times, am not sure how that makes everyone the cunts that the media is spoiling for. Sometimes you do need yo say enough is enough and come out fighting.

My rsnt.
My opinion
My arsehole

Although many would debate it, I do have one, fairly unique experience set, and one superpower.
Both of these I have needed to use to try and get my head around the absolute horrors that Saints FC (and the EFL) have inflicted on us lately.
Cross Cultural Awareness. My experience of building a new life in TWO Foreign Countries. There is a huge leap of awareness and understanding that one needs to make when you move to a new Country. There is no handbook or AI solution, you have to seek to understand people, values and tradition. (And language IF you have that skill set)
I needed to understand and not offend so many Nationalities across the Middle East. I had to understand rules, expectations and behaviour expected were different.
Eventually I had good coaches - all friends with Experience. But in those first months/years… there were many laws and rules it took me years to understand.
In fact in my corporate career, holding a mirror up and showing others how pre-conceptions could be wrong (long before & that type of thing became woke nonsense!)
The same coming to Poland - the simplest example - Pedestrian Crossing - Dubai? Whatever… didn’t even see it
UK… meh don’t have to stop inside the ZigZags..
For everyone it’s 2nd nature.
Here? Oh no it’s a heinous crime NOT to stop even if the pedestrian steps right in front of you.
Total Pedestrian right of way - took me 8 years of luckily not killing someone before I adjusted to ā€œA Bloody Obviousā€ rule. (Be ready to brake when you see a sign in fact learning to SEE a sign without Orange Beacons)

So to Saints.
Cheating - why would an outsider (OK Foreigner) think cheating was a heinous crime? Your Politicians, Celebrities, Billionaires do it, nobody cares.
Football teams do it, Man City, PGMOL/Arsenal.
It is not illegal in many countries (especially the US).
Spying specifically is endemic in Europe and part of the game.

So here we are, brought down by the bloody obvious. Why would you think you need to tell someone? It’s obvious that is unacceptable
Why would you not do something you’ve been doing for years? It’s obviously acceptable behaviour.

There is no excuse for cheating.
There is no excuse for allowing a spying DNA.
Because it’s bloody obvious you don’t do it.
There is no excuse for NOT telling someone it’s illegal, but you would never believe someone would do it
Just maybe, sometimes, qualifications and experience (in so many walks of modern life) forget the bloody obvious and common sense.
Saints developed a culture of spying we are shocked, angry, horrified.
My guess is that those involved in creating it are equally shocked to find it was wrong.
Leadership is shocked like us to find out it was happening.

They should have known
No. Do you know every rule of law or cultural attribute even in Scotland? Let alone Germany, or France, or Spain
I read so many stories of tourists jailed in UAE or other countries because they never imagined rules could differ.
Heck even Brits here falling foul of our ā€œRespectā€ officers.
It happens so often.
Someone (Tonda or Spors) have destroyed our club likely through ignorance or misunderstanding culture and probably never realised when they started.

I’m not angry. I’m just sad.
And I expect many other Foreign coaching teams at other Clubs are offering up prayers they didn’t get caught.

May be some time before I spend money I don’t have to watch Saints play live again

I am in favour of keeping Eckart if possible - the best manager we’ve had since Koeman.

Not only are they cheating bastards they are thieving bastards they have just removed GBP 5.00 from my bank account for the audio pass from today until the 21st of June.
What fucking games am I likely to be listening to?
The sound of Silence?

Cunts

I have sent them a polite reply as per below.

Could you please explain why you have taken GBP 5.00 from my account for an audio pass from 21st of May until the 21st of June?

As far as I am aware there are no games in that period as you have been thrown out of the play off final please refund the money.

Reckon that direct debit has been the absolute last thing on anyone’s mind at the club over the last few days - I’d give them that one

ATM I feel there is 2 camps at Saints 1 lead by SR the next Dragan

I feel Spors is on Dragans side and so is Tonka

Southampton’s Eckert authorised spying, panel says -

https://x.com/i/status/2057524097458864177

Fuck me the ā€˜hang him high’ bandwagon is going full steam… we were never a popular side because we were seen as a thorn in many a clubs side, holding a top tier status when ā€˜much bigger’ especially Northern clubs tumbled down the leagues… but even with Boro and Portsmuff fan stoking up bile, the amount of vindictive shite, self-righteous bullshit and naive posturing is quite surprising. Its fucking football, we watched some training which is only against the rules because of the 72 hours (we wokld have been fine watching any unique or novel recovery or conditioning teams might be using outside that) which makes this even more ridiculous. OK I get it, it’s against the rules, we were wrong… but FFS there are worse things in the world than this. Where is this degree of self righteous indignation after one of your own has conned a ref for a pen? This is what I can’t stand, the two faced, fuckwit level hypocrisy from stupid people who lack these self awareness to recognise it…

All this just so we could find out if Hayden Hackney was training/playing. Holy shit … What a calamatous error of judgement. I believe the FA will take his future employment decision out of the club’s hands unfortunately. Sad days.

Junior staffers told panel they felt pressured by Tonda to carry out spying which they felt was morally wrong. That won’t play out well for him.
