šŸ‡·šŸ‡ŗ Russia

Wouldn’t be the first time he’s run rings around the West.

Remember when Obama saying chemical weapons were a red line in Syria. In swoops Putin, convinces Assad to put it all beyond use under international supervision. The world is a safer place, but look out for that Russian aggression, eh?

Not for eastern Europe it isn’t, I’m also not too sure he’s achieved his objectives, he exposed what we all knew, his long term ambition to push NATO back to where it was pre 91, that will never happen now those old bloc nations have tasted democracy.
And that is his biggest fear, borders yes but his biggest fear is revolution, Ukraine is very close to Russia in culture (think UK and Ireland), if Ukraine enjoys a democracy next door on his border what about culturally close Russia next door?
Revolution, NATO on the border is a red herring as when was the last time NATO invaded anywhere? Why can’t NATO march right up to NATO partners borders and train? Its ok for Russia to do it, its more of a sphere of influence than invasion, for a start you would invade via troops that way anymore.
If Russia does go in I’ll predict one thing, Putin will have massively overstretched and it’ll be Chechnya on speed and NATO will go right to where they possibly can (Romania, Turkey and Baltic states) and also Turkey could threaten the closure of the Bosphorus or restrict its use (it can do that legally).
This has showed NATO’s weakness at national interest surpassing NATO’S interest but that won’t last for long if Russia goes in, I also wouldn’t say its not beyond the realms of fantasy that Nordstream 2 finds itself with water in it also as opposed to gas.
The World is only peaceful it appears when bullies are being appeased and they’re getting their way.

And quite simply why should others Worlds be turned upside down so we the West can have a peaceful life? Putin reminds me of Gammon Brits wanting the Empire back, seems a tad biased.

I’d like to hope this subspecies is extinct these days. Politicians waving their willies instead perhaps

I hope so but that’s what Putin is, a Russian gammon, wanting the old Soviet bloc back, it happened to Britain and its happened to the Soviet Union of an Empire lost, he wants it back simply, he won’t get it as many nations that were under the Soviets heel now enjoy a good standard of living, I know two Estonians very well and have done for nearly twenty years and have met their families, they’ve absolutely no time for all that and say if it were that good they’d be all be wanting to rejoin, in fact no place in Eastern Europe wants return to the Soviet era, only people in the West do, why I don’t know, they never lived under it.

Wow, the US had a spokesperson on R4 news giving a long list of the potential reasons why Russia may stage an invasion. Just a list, No facts. Laughable.

Also talking about a nursery being hit. Sad if true, but conveniently smacks of the scene of a teddy bear in the rubble, for those who remember Drop The Dead Donkey

I feel we’re being played by the USA/UK

What makes me laugh is that when Boris Johnson says false flag on a broadcast, when it’s levelled against the Russians, none of the media bats an eyelid.

Just amazes me that people are immediately willing to swallow this bollocks if its not our governments yet can’t stomach it if it is, or might be, or if people even raise the prospect.

What will you guys do if Russia does invade?

I guess you can’t remember the apartment bombings in Chechnya.

They’re all morally bankrupt, the lot of them, but if I had to choose between the Russia state that has interfered with Eastern European countries since the end of World War 1 via numerous means (the UK as well in their spheres of influence) or UK I know I’d choose the UK, it doesn’t make the UK great, we’re not but we but I choose them over the Russian federation, Putin has changed the laws so he remains in power, even Johnson wouldn’t try that.
Why would you genuinely roll between 100,000 - 150,000 in two countries to you neighbours door?
That is not NATO being aggressive is it?
Countries join NATO of their free will, Baltic states couldn’t wait to join and they don’t want to leave, why?
You can believe in any propaganda you want, that is your choice but you can’t deny Russia went into Crimea when they had no right to, they’re funding ethnic Russians in Donbas to remain and dig in there holding up the Minsk agreement.
Putin reminds me of a dangerous Nigel Farage.

Hide behind the sofa.

And you?

Likewise US and ā€œcoalitionā€ forces in Iraq maybe? Didn’t Bliar lie to us about WMDs?

He did and he quite rightly is labelled a war criminal, not too sure that makes it ok for Putin not to be one, not too sure how people who hate Blair fuse that into Putin not being an invading democracy denying dictator, when people criticise Russia people who hate the UK come back with Blair!
What sort or retort is that? They’re both the same.

Tell the Spetsnas where to find you.

From what my brother has told me Pap it would appear you have a hotline to Putin.

He’s wrong. I’m not a telephone installation engineer, legitimate or otherwise.

I knew Barry was right sometimes.

Far right most of the time.
