Do you know, I’ve still never seen that film :smile:

And add to that the inconsistency in application of UK sanctions. Makes you wonder if our esteemed Government knows it’s arse from its elbow it’s or something else….

Hasn’t aged well. Take it from me, you’ve better things to do

First one is decent, don’t bother with the sequel.

I am utterly gobsmacked that FIFA have not yet booted Russia out of the Wolrd Cup.

I assume they have all been paid not to.

Fair play to Lewandowski for doing the bleeding obvious and forcing this through.

One thing I think we all can agree on is Putin totally underestimated the resistance to this within Ukraine and within Russia, the longer this goes on the more desperate he’ll become, Russian coup? Or very worryingly will the isolated president go to nuclear?
He has strengthened NATO, he’ll get NATO permanently on his doorstep (until he is gone) and he’ll get applications to join NATO.

Good job for us there wasn’t a world cup in 2003 :lou_wink_2:

Boris is organising voluntary food parcels for his oligarch friends who have frozen accounts. Very short queue.

If you’re interested in the full lecture it’s here:

Actually he didn’t foresee full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Afghanistan /Iraq style as we have here. When he talks about destruction of Ukraine, he seems to envisage a never ending proxy war. It’s an interesting lecture nonetheless.

Has he?

Did USA and the rest get booted out of international competitions when they invaded Afghanistan, Iraq and bombed Libya? The world cup is being held in Qatar FFS. It’s rank hypocrisy for one thing and on the hand it’s a sporting competition which is totally inconsequential in the grand scheme of things.

To be fair, nobody voted for us that year in the Eurovision Song Contest. :rage:

Most definitely, no popular uprising, instead a begging bowl asking the citizens he’s been killing to overthrow the Government protecting them, calling them drunks and neo nazis is laughable as it is desperate, Russia can’t win this in any way, shape or form in the long term.

Yeah I’m sure all the Ukrainians displaced from their homes or worse see Putin as laughable and desperate too.

This journalist is in Kiev and might be worth following:

This is what democracy looks like.

Ah so you now see him in a different light? And don’t twist what I said, I said Putin was desperate in the context of what he said not of what is happening.
Putin displaced those people.
Putin is responsible for the dying.

I hope one day he is in the Hague for his war crimes.

We were allowed into it when we invaded Iraq. That was in order for the rest of Europe to show their disapproval by awarding us a grand total of nul points.
