Religion

Make your own points, don’t fob me off to other websites.

Do you think it is healthier for the mind to be in the Matrix or out of it?

It appears you think a security blanket of religion is good for a healthy mind.

It isn’t!

It stunts development as you already believe you have the answer, so won’t follow the evidence to where the evidence actually leads. It goes against all rational thought processes.

So not worth me praying for a lottery win tonight. Is that because he/she/it doesn’t exist or because they already granted my wish earlier?

If they do exist and are up for granting more than one wish a day does that mean i don’t even have to buy a ticket?

It is supposed to be a fucking miracle after all.

When you pray for courage, the Lord giveth you not courage, he giveth you the opportunity to be courageous. When you pray for Rachel Riley to sit on ur face, the Lord giveth you not Rachel Riley, he giveth you the opportunity to go on tinder and see if you can find someone who looks a bit like her. When you pray for Lottery Win, the Lord doth not pay you out personally, he doth giveth you the opportunity to buy a scratch card

Bullocks to that, I’m now wholeheartedly in agreement with MLG. You’d have to mental to believe in winning the lottery just by chance.

I haven’t read all 6 pages but has anyone given full consideration to the baby Jesus and Easter eggs?

I don’t believe it’s unhealthy, I’ve already made that point. I attached some articles that show that it can actually be healthy to have faith, especiallyfor those that have mental health issues.

Belief in the irrational, is in itself a form of a mental health issue. It stunts development and effects decision making negatively. It isn’t healthy to not live in reality. People go to mental clinics for not living in reality, religion is a form of not living in reality and in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contray to its position on many subjects.

What you got against easter eggs? Don’t tell me the bunny’s a lie as well? What next, Noah didn’t take 2 of every animal on the whole planet on his boat?

Like a 45,000 seater stadium?

This is a very confused post that makes little sense.

I have to agree. 45K (and above) stadiums can be proven to exist.

Forgive me MLG. I was trying to be facetious. IIRC, on TSW you were unwavering in you support for a new 45,000 stadium, which is deemed irrational by some, hence my rather clumsy attempt at humour.

They don’t defy the laws of physics, chemistry or biology either… like the Bible does.

…So, does anyone on here follow a religion of any type?

Personally, I don’t, although I am currently attending church (and probably will do for the forseeable future) at our local CofE as I think they promote a good course of living for my daughter, and (I believe) set a good example of how to live your life.

I certainly don’t have any problem with religion though, in it’s baser guises of helping those who are in need, and also giving people piece of mind in situations of grief and despair.

Do you believe everthing in the Bible is 100% correct?

If not then you are cherry picking from it and creating your own religion. If you do that then there is no need for the original religion.

Why is false hope or belief good? I’d prefer to know the truth, than live blindly behind a lie.

Easter Eggs are a trick created by developers to get stupid people to do stupid things in their apps in the irrational idea that they may get a nice surprise!!

And have any of you watched Rise of the Guardians that is rock solid proof that they all exist…

MLG must’ve been a nightmare as a kid.

And Pooh said, watch out Tigger the-

No he didn’t.

Yes he did, darling, Pooh said-

He didn’t. Pooh is a bear. He lacks the evolutionary development to produce speech of that kind. And in any case, he would be unable to communicate with a tiger. And that’s another thing, where is this alleged conversation supposed to be taking place? Tigers are from the forest and grassland habitats in Asia, whereas pooh appears to be some kind of stunted golden bear from Northern America, it is highly unlikely that blah blah blah

Instead of just going on and on without providing any evidence on what a ‘healthy mind’ is, why don’t you read those articles and understand that it can improve many peoples mental health.

Always about bloody bears with you!

I was like Karen from Outnumbered…

Yes, and that’s your choice, but (and I say this is the kindest way I can) I don’t think many people want to be like you are.
