:labour: 🌅 Red Dawn - Life Under Labour

Just what the fuck are you smoking?

Because as I’ve explained numerous times the mainstream parties have totally failed the majority, that’s created a void for populism to thrive, you can only call people concerned about integration and immigration racist a certain amount of times before they’ll walk and go to a snake oil salesman.

People aren’t persuaded now by British born statements and citizens anymore, they’re flimsy excuses and who has taken advantage of that?

Reform, and all because the mainstream parties turned the other way as they couldn’t confront what was before their eyes.

Reform are a result of inaction, cancel culture, culture wars, political correctness, scorn and vitriol about genuine concerns.

We’re all to blame.

No the inability to call a spade a shovel is to blame.

The problem with this statement is that its NOT the majority of our population
Farage (lets rhyme him with Garage as it should be) but its ta MINORITY. But the MINORITY that swing elections - the 4 mil or so who have never really been that interested in policy or anything but swing based on what the media tells them they should think
now jumping on the Farage bandwagon as some sort of saviour from a problem that does not really exist. The issue of migrants and their impact on their day-to-day lives is actually minimal, but they have been told that its the reason fie all their ills
just as previously it was the EU.. have their lives changed for the better since? NO, so cunts like Farage then find another scapegoat to attract these folks
If by some miracle Starmer were to stop the migrants, do you think Farage would then shut up and disappear up his own arse (where his rhetoric would be at home with all the other shit he spouts) ? He would find another scapegoat and it would not be ridiculous to suggest that it would be British citizens of non British origins given he has found fertile receptivity for less savoury aspects of his thinking.

There folks who dont like being called racist, but that if its not that its ignorance
and stupidity and it might be ‘intellectually elitist’ in your mind but eventually you have to call a shovel a stupid racist cunt

I find some points made by both you and Bazza are good, but cannot agree with everything either of you post. Not that either of you are after validation, but it does get me thinking about how current reaction to population increase has come about. In 2010, the UK population was 62.77m. In mid 2024 it was 69.30m. Some increase that. During this time we have had austerity with dramatic cuts to public services and no plan from whichever government was in power to try and resolve how such a population increase can integrate into a society that runs smoothly. Ignoring cultural and religious differences caused by migration, it seems to me the simple fact of the matter this that all governments since 2010 have failed abysmally to provide the services necessary to enhance a society fit to accommodate the migrants they have slavishly welcomed into the country. As a result, people feel increasingly isolated and unserved by a country they thought they knew.

In addition to this, over the last 20 years we have seen the very institutions we were told to trust prove to be corrupt, fraudulent, self serving and inept. From the MP’s expenses scandal to the ruinous annuity rates and fucked pensions. From corrupt police to criminal hacks. From fixing libor rates to profiteering energy companies. Banks, Government, Law and Order, media companies - all horrible cunts that have sought to fuck us all in some way at some point in the last 20 years.

For me, all the above creates the space that Bazza refers to. The space that enables the populists to thrive with their poisonous messages of hate and their ability to spin and manipulate and cajole.

Exactly this, but MOT won’t see the correlation as it’s doesn’t fit the agenda, also won’t answer how to reconcile with a fundamentalist?

It’s by the very nature an oxymoron.

So we have that issue straight away, feminists (I count myself one) or many of them cower away from dowry, arranged marriage, cousin marriage and many other culture awkwardness things.

Barry, why are you persisting with this? You know that your ‘context’ its impossible to reconcile with fundamentalists, its not even a valid question or pertinent to the debate. There will always be fundamentalists but we can and should ensure that those practicing their religion within this country do so within the law. No excuses. If you wish to be citizens if a country you abide by their laws. But trying to suggest that this makes cultural integration impossible is both naive and exactly what Farage and his ilk persist in stirring up
We do not need to accept those things that go against our laws. With respect to cultural aspects perhaps start with banning circumcision? All those cultural aspects you mention used yo be part of British christian culture but have disappeared as we became more secular thank fuck.

Fo not confuse the principles to allow religious freedom with ignoring the need to ensure practices are within our laws and dont assume those who practice cant evolve and move towards different attitudes
.

Nothing here that is not true, but if you read through what you have written, there is nothing in the cause of the political vacuum that could be attributed to migrants as a cause. That is what I am focussed on, because before the migrants it was Brussels
who is next when folks realise that stopping migrants did fuck all about improving the lives of people in this country?

I have never disputed that there are conditions rife for exploitation of some people by extremists which is what we are seeing
and true to form they blame the most vulnerable and weakest

What I cant understand is why its constantly used to ‘justify’ the situation, as if its ‘OK if Farage gets in, as everyone else fucked up and that will show em’ Its not
if we are prepared to accept people voting this way as justified despite none of the issues being caused by migrants, then we are effectively justifying Farage and his ideology (not policies as he has none).

Every discussion, every media outlet seems to be doing the same - talking about the hole Farage can fill, rather than how that is simply unacceptable given his hideous ideology
. Just because he is different, does not make him an acceptable solution and we should be pointing that out to those being suckered into voting for despicable cunt

Ah the liberal cowardice argument falling behind the law and not what is morally correct.

You still haven’t answered how you can reconcile with a fundamentalist.

You’re the problem we’re in this and you fail to see it, western liberals have failed Europe, you’ve given us segregation, parallel lives, destroyed national totems, social cohesion, mocked a love of a nation and much more and now it’s coming home to roost.

You have to own Farage as you’ve created him.

It was a nice try @pap, but he’s just repeating the same shit as before.

Nothing to add to any thread, all that’s missing on this one is “I’m not wrong”

Jog on you numpty. try as you might you still fail to add any value to the debate looking to elevate your opinion as gospel - a rather narcissistic trait.

‘reconcile fundamentalism’ - you are barking up the wrong tree. keep asking for an answer and you might find one

once agin your obsession with liberalism, am surprised you did not add the over used ‘neo’ or even drop progressives into mix.. you would have the full on Trump set then. All the while offering no solution or even a genuine self thought out opinion - you seem to be sat on the repeat button ad nauseam and even if you think so, it never gets any more intellectually robust

This thread has gone down hill since Baz was allowed back. :sob:

I despise Trump as much as Farage, they exist as a reaction and inaction of the political mainstream. I’ve said this before.,

The solution is as simple as it is unattractive, the country is firmly in the centre right now so Labour has to go there or lose power, it can pure of sorts from the sidelines or be dirty and in power.

Politicians have sold their principles or kept their views quiet for power since before the Romans (Corbyn was a huge EU sceptic and was a Brexit as Farage as are were many trade unions) so it won’t be a shock for the two house north London clique so to back on their meaningless words or manifesto promises.

To beat or at the very least attempt to beat Farage you have to ape his policies but with a slightly milder tone and end result, distasteful yes but the only possibility of winning.

  1. Temporary leave of the ECHR to immediately deport boat arrivals, a huge fall out with France but we could back channel a future deal concerning defence, welfare, money for them at the same time, let the citizens protest but they’ll get over it after a while as will the migrants and move on elsewhere, Poland does it and they’re in the ECHR.

  2. Private faith schools need to be closer look at, what is on the curriculum and is it assigned to British values.

  3. All people moving to this country must speak a level of English, this is being looked at now but it has to enforced and should be a requirement to get a visa.

There we go, off the top of my head, it’s either that or Farage will become king or kingmaker, you won’t like it but it doesn’t make it any less true, the average person like when brexit took place have had enough and they’ll scorch earth again, the middle classes will suffer more for it and they won’t care and I don’t blame them.

Above is an example.

what the fuck does this mean?

Less swearing please?

It means what i wrote, politicians lie and will go back on their word in a heartbeat.

So what Barry is saying is that the main parties have sold their principles down the toilet yet the solution is to sell more principles down the toilet (and become an international pariah (not to mention the impact would have on post Brexit Trade agreements) to appease the 4 million or so swing voters who have no real principles but have had enough of living next door to muslims and who blame migrants for their own problems that they were previously told was the fault of the EU?

Brilliant, Fuck me you should be in one of those Government policy think tanks or be one of those spin doctor cunts

‘barry’ the board’s Alastair Campbell!
