These days you can transfer the accrued funds into your new employerâs pension scheme.
I would welcome the Aussie system where your employer pays into your pot that follows you about - they can tie it the NI number and it can go out via the payroll system
But no - we have to do things the hard way in the UK
There is a fair bit off lobbying going on in the background on implementing an Aussie-style system.
Personally, on paper I think itâs better than what weâve got but from what I see it can be a bugger if you move jobs a lot and you wonât end up with much of an income if youâre out of the workforce for a long period or if you are low paid.
Youâd need some sort of state backed underpin to ensure equitable outcomes. IMHO
Iâve been in my current job 14 years, I have 3 other pensions which I am trying to get into one
Just read the the city refer to impact of the Truss mini budget on the cost of borrowing as the âmoron premiumâ
What they are also saying is that to prevent real spending cuts she is going to have to borrow ÂŁ7bn more by 29 or an additional ÂŁ43 bn in total including the ÂŁ35bn of additional borrowing announced in the budget
Trussâs budget proposed ÂŁ45bn of additional borrowing which caused the markets to shit the bed. The only difference is that the markets were expecting Labour to splash the cash whereas Truss blindsided them
So did Truss deliver a Labour budget or did Reeves give us a Tory one?
The lines have become so blurred now that thereâs only an imaginary ideology separating them. Blair was more tory than his heroine Thatcher.
There is some noise about consultants surgeons earning big money from overtime rates
looks like this is due to a part time consultant working 128 days overtime - which kind of suggests they are full time and have come up with a nice little wheeze to earn more cash.
Surely overtime rates are only paid for hours worked over full time rates?? Otherwise you are unfairly enriching part time workers
Depends what duties they were performing, if they were taking bog standard ward rounds prescribing paracetamol then yeah maybe a waste of resources, if they are performing complex trauma/cancer/cardiac surgery then ÂŁ200/hour is an absolute bargain.
Funnily enough this is apparently starting to have an impact on private medical care because the consultants are spending more time on NHS cases & making more money on the NHS than they would doing their private practice work. PMI providers and hospitals will have to bump up their pay rates I guess.
Market forces - lol.
Should we know who Axel is ( I genuinely have no idea) - rather than revisiting the sins of the father.
He is due to stand trial for those kids killed in Southport.
OK, thanks
But what has his father and his involvement with Rawandan atrocities got to do with it?
Genuine question.
My knowledge of this has reached itâs limit, soz.
So what I can ascertain from these posts is the father of a murdering scumbag was a genocidal arsehole who was defended by Kier
ÂŠď¸ Daily Heil, Torygraph, GB News, Reform, Stephen Waxy Lemon etc etc etc
The suggestion is that he knew the father was a murderer but kept him in the country, then covered up the son being a terrorist.
Even the Nazis at the Neurenburg Trials got defence lawyers. Donât remember there was any comeback on them.
That hits the nail on the head, but they didnât have to put up with âanti-socialâ media whipping up a storm out of something to meet their agendas or click bait journalism.
