Ah, good idea BTripz. Didnā€™t realise it did that. Iā€™ll have a look at doing that.

@BTripz Can you have another look and let me know if thatā€™s worked?

Nope, not worked, Iā€™ve even created a dummy account and I can see where you started and finishedā€¦

How odd - I have created a privacy zoneā€¦

We know where you live chertsā€¦ any more of that politics disagreement with his holiness the Pop (sic) and them Corbyn guard will be round to sort you out with a ton of Hail Maryā€™s and shitā€¦

So have just got myself psyched up for my longest ride yet. Went to pump up the rear tyre and in doing so it looks like I split the valve in then inner tube and tyre has deflated.

Bastard.

So Iā€™ve had the rest of last nightā€™s curry instead.

I tried guys. I tried.

Go tubeless dude - dont be such an inner tube ludditeā€¦ you will need new wheels thoughā€¦ but that means less cash for beer and fatfuckercurry

Iā€™ve already flogged his address to 10 different people.

:lou_wink_2:

Iā€™ve already buried evidence in his garden.

Tubeless?

Is that code for not wearing under-garments?

Couldnā€™t do that, Iā€™d leave skid-marks if I pulled the rear brake too hard.

New inner-tube bought, inserted and back on the bike. No excuses tomorrow (and no left over curry either).

Buy a spare and take it with you

Iā€™ve got a mobile and the wifeā€™s got a car !

I do take a repair kit with me but this was the valve stem that tore whilst inflating it. I guess it perished ?

Always take a spare tube - nothing worse than having to fix a puncture particularly when it starts getting colder. A repair kit is good if you have real bad luck and a second puncture. Switching tubes takes 5 minutes.

The box is about the size of a postage stamp and a piece of piss to apply - will get you home.

These are a god send - can inflate your tyre (roadie) almost instantly - try getting one to 80 psi with a pump.Found you might need a couple for a mountain bike, but then you donā€™t need as high psi

I donā€™t know if itā€™s because I am riding a mountain bike but it took me 5 minutes just to get the funning rear wheel off!

I let Halfords fit then inner tube.

I used to really enjoy bike maintenance but somehow it all seems to have got very complex.

Iā€™ve got disc brakes on this bike and to adjust them I can no longer just undo a nut, pull the cable through with some pliers and tighten the nut again.

It reminds me of when in used to know everything about maintaining my Mk II Escortā€™s Kent crossflow engine and then I got a company car that had an ECU and that was that.

I do like the co2 pump though.

If you do use the CO2 pump, make sure it has a neoprene johnny. They get fecking cold when you use them

Eastleigh-Romsey. Check. Quick pit stop for nuts and water.

Romsey-Hursley. Check. Pop into the Dolphin to see if my mate is there. Heā€™s not but a text summoned him.

Waiting for him now. 24k down.

Hursley-Eastleigh. Dunno!

Is this a new taxi service like Uber

Lol.

Could very well be.

Right, hear this members of the @SotoniansCyclingClub, my afternoon ride was 36km and not 29km as your stupid Strava claims.

I have set up integration between my FitBit and Strava. This means I can start recording my ride on my FitBit and it will then be synced to Strava.

However, somehow the FitBit lost connection to my GPS on a couple of occasions. Fortunately, I had my hiking app - Komoot recording too.

Weird thing happened just as I was nearly home.

A young girl stopped me in tears (her, not me) saying she was lost and could I tell her how to get home.

She was 11 but looked more like 7. Anyway, I gave her directions but she was so messed up that she just got more and more anxious. So I doubled back and rode the 1.5km back along the route Iā€™d already done whilst she followed me.

When she got home, I made sure her Mum knew who I was and that Iā€™d dropped her home because sheā€™d been lost. The girl had just voluntarily ridden off with a stranger down a very secluded country lane.

I did 20 miles this afternoon and 8 this morning. How many is that in metric?
