Own goal by Newcastle 0-1 Chelsea 10 mins

Looked like Chilwell pushed the player to concede the OG but replay showed he’d played the ball before being pushed. Fair VAR ruling.

Chelsea are ridiculously in control. Probably means a 1-1 draw.

That was my initial reaction too, but I’ve just seen another replay and I’ve got to say I thought it should have been ruled out. The push was after the ball had gone in, fair enough, but the defender’s left leg that put it in was kicked from behind by Chilwell to make the contact. I don’t think he’d have put it in if his leg hadn’t been kicked forward from behind.

Chelsea 81% possession

Need to see it again from other angles at half time .

Fuckin’ hell the finishing in this game has been spectacularly abysmal. :lou_facepalm_2:

Well with the number of chances missed one was bound to go in. 2 nil Chelsea.

I wonder if it occurred to the toon defence there, even fleetingly, to perhaps toy with the idea of putting in a tackle on Werner? Or did they just want to admire his running technique?

Comedy goal from Solanke for the winner :joy::joy::joy:

Reading keeper out of his area, clears it into Solanke from close range, who duly wins it back and buries it with the keeper nowhere.

Welbeck opens his account for Brighton, the first goal for Brighton at Villa Park…13 minutes.

Shit.
There goes my Suprbru.

Yeah mine too.

Meanwhile a comedy attack at the other end when Villa concoct a miss out of a sure thing.

Better off watching Jonny May’s 2nd try against the Oirish.

Is there some significance in that, I’m not into egg-chasing?

It was rather good.
