I dunno. Some people are going to find ostentatious displays of wealth a bit vulgar. I did think he was out of order for calling you a cunt, but that applies across the board, really.
That said, you leapt down the big benefits hole as soon as, perhaps thinking that anyone that doesn’t like big ostentatious displays of wealth is naturally going to be caning 40 Benson and Hedges a day at the taxpayers expense. I’m creatively inventing of course, but you were in that ballpark.
I can’t really blame you for jumping to conclusions. JBoy is famously terse, and has a badge to prove it. I’ve been on the end of his one-liners once or twice. Thing is, he’sa decent bloke, and while the charges he lays at your feet might not entirely be true (although you did your best to prove him right later x), my usual reaction after getting a JBoy one-liner is to wonder whether I’ve been a dick.
You post strong opinions, matey, as do I. I’d expect some in return, but I reckon if you and JBoy met in person, you’d probably both “get” each other immediately, and laugh heartily about this gratuitous hostility, amusing as it has been for us to watch.
