It’s a bit gossipy I guess - but if it’s true?

a) It’s Critical of an Union and b) They Published It.

You may say that they asked for articles bout working for union, and it’s not their fault that the one they get shows Union in Bad Light, but We Say they should have Swept It Under Carpet. I know for fact they do this, to suit agenda. When they asked for articles bout what it’s like working in Drive Thru, I sent article bout what my mate done in the Mcnugget fryer, and they like totally quashed it and I never got any Explanation…

It’s in the news for the same reason Benefit Street got made. Someone would like you to form negative impressions.

Why do you think the Guardian wants to try and criticise/smear unions? Just clickbait? Or do you think there’s someting more insidious at play here?

Is that the same unions which support Jeremy Corbyn?

The Centre Left Grassroots Alliance, the so called Corbyn slate, just got elected to the NEC. Cannot see this appeal being lodged if this requires a vote.

I always think there something more insidious at play :lou_lol:

It’s no secret that big business doesn’t like unions. It’s no secret that most of our media is part of big business, and looks out for its interests.

It’s no secret that Corbyn really loves unions. Also no secret that he is planning a whole raft of policy to improve union representation.

Gettin’ it in early. Make you think that unions are pisstaking cunts.

Thought it was a piss take written by a tory when i read it.

Here’s a couple of sentences from start of the article.

What amuses me most about this is that they use the Labour leader’s surname and not “Jeremy” like my younger colleagues, as though they are on personal speaking terms with him.

It was a chance for me to join the cause, promote workers’ rights, do my bit to get Labour back in power and eat hummus and pitta bread with intelligent staff who enlighten me with their deeply thought-out political theories.

That sets the tone and then it’s just constant negatives. Could i suggest Mr/Mr Anonymous looks for a job they would be happier in.

Sure.

Do you think any unions are pisstaking cunts? One or two maybe?

Good news re the NEC elections! Can the new NEC countermand the appeal instructed by the old NEC I wonder?

Not given the context. Most of the time, the business is trying to take the piss more.

Principle of most negotiations is asking for more than you actually need up front.

The new centre ground is a lot poorer and far less secure.

More than one in three families in England are a monthly pay packet away from losing their homes, according to research by Shelter highlighting how many households have almost no savings.

The housing charity found that 37% of working families would be unable to cover their housing costs for more than a month if one partner lost their job.

The findings mirror government figures, which show that there are 16.5 million working age adults in the UK with no savings.

Campbell Robb, the chief executive of Shelter, said: “These figures are a stark reminder that sky-high housing costs are leaving millions of working families stretched to breaking point and barely scraping by from one paycheque to the next.

This circus has dragged on and is getting a bit dull now - how about they get it sorted asap and crack on with trying to get into power?

I completely agree. The only thing that seems to be keeping Smith in this race is the consensual hallucination the rebel MPs and the commentariat in the media.

You can get odds of 1/12 on Corbyn, 11/1 on Smith. After deliberately trying to keep new members off the ballot, Smith and team are now asking for an extra month to get to know the new members they’ve just pissed off.

It’s complete shite. They’re trying to disrupt the Labour Party conference and ensure that Corbyn isn’t announced as winner there.

I have started to refer to New Labour as Nuke Labour.

Sad thing is I don’t find this remotely surprising.

What’s the national average salary? £26k or something?

You’re earning £30k or whatever and taking home £1800-1900 per month-ish - spending £500-1000 on rent or mortgage and raising a family of four or five on that as well? Doomed.

I have a review in a few weeks time. I shall take your advice!

Good old Guardian, consistently pumping out these 2 or 3 times a day.

As I said yesterday, I couldn’t help but admire the speed, and brutal efficiency with which the Tories went about selecting their new Leader. It wasn’t always pretty, but they sorted it - almost under the radar whilst Labour went into meltdown.

In the meantime, they are pressing on with ensuring policies to benefit the few whilst the opposition are rudderless. Great work all round gang.

(Apologies for sounding like a broken record)
