The Guardian is reporting today that Emily Thornberry is going to be reshuffled. She’s a good performer, so it is believed they’re trying to move her sideways, rather than out.
They just don’t want her talking about a second referendum on national television all that much.
Expecting Thornberry to keep her gob shut - good luck with that
As I said before, she’s a very capable performer. Her problem is that she spends too much of her time looking down her nose at people.
Remember that the first time she hit the news was during Ed Miliband’s tenure. She bitched online about someone having an England flag in their garden and got pelters for it.
So this could be good news. During the recent Sotonians leadership meeting, @Goatboy and @saintbletch were discussing the Labour leadership.
Bletch thinks it is unsalvageable. Unless there’s major movement in the Parliamentary Party, I am inclined to agree.
Could this be that major movement?

Is moving Labour even further left the right way to go - sure there might be less dissension in the ranks of the PLP, but Brexit still remains a dividing factor and they still have to convince the public at large that they are not just a bunch of trots.
