šŸš— šŸš™ My Next Car Will Be

Nope, the only proper car was a Mini Metro.

Mine was brilliant, lasted me years, I think I put about 150k on the clock.

Learnt how to fix cars and engines on that little beauty.

I once was the proud owner of an Austin Allegro. There, I’ve admitted it! The colour was lime green, or affectionately known as vomit green. What was I thinking of! In my defence it was very cheap and I was strapped for reddies at the time. My kids refused to let me pick them up at their school, I had to park round the corner at the bottom of the hill. Admitting this must be similar to Alcoholics Anonymous, ā€œMy name is nottarf krap and I’m an allegro driverā€.

A touch of class.

I split up with a girlfriend back in the 80s, and the price of buying her out of the house was to let her have my beloved racing green MGB GT. I got her white Allegro.

This won’t sit well with purists, and I feel slightly ashamed to admit it, but I really liked that car. I liked the handling, the driving position, and the overgrown Mini feel to it. I didn’t even mind it’s looks. There, I’ve said it… I liked the Austin Allegro. Don’t judge me.

You’ll be saying you like the clutch on a princess next, I realised what I wrote there and can’t be arsed to change it.

My wife asked me just for once to treat her like a princess.

So I pimped her out to an arab, and had them both killed.

My name is Polski_Phil & I was an Austin Allegro driver.
1300 orangey/red colour, round steering wheel.
I was very popular. One of the few cars at college capable of driving to The Dell on matchdays

We could form a support group, phil. We can’t be the only ones.

We’re the only ones brave enough to admit it.

Go on then, after the Metro I too had a squatting toad.

It had a leaking water pump so used to overheat regularly making meaning the engine would continue running even after you turned the ignition off…

Using the gearstick was like stirring a pudding in a pudding bowl…

Enjoyed it whilst I had it though, my girlfriend at the time didn’t…

Very nice…looks like a high end restoration. Porsche 356A 1956- 57?

Not sure, as did not see the full description… but it is in very nice condition. The red leather is original, so lovely patina/cracking but all complete. Real class

Yep left hooker so likely to be a dry state US car…356A cars were 1955 - 59

Ah just found the full story and pictures.

Yesterday Speed Demon (the first steamliner in video) became the fastest piston driven vehicle at Bonneville with a speed of 481mph…

Dilemma.
Need wheels. Limited budget.
Hyundai I30 Combi (estate) fits the spec & budget.
It is also a factory conversion to LPG making fuel 60% cheaper than gas.

But.

The LPG tank takes the space for a spare wheel.

So the question is.

Would you buy a car with no spare tyre?

Mu current car doesn’t have a spare tyre as there’s no room for it, instead they provided us with some stuff that you’re supposed to pump into the tyre if you get a flat. It’s supposed to stop any leaks and you can drive on it for about 30 miles…
