My next car will beā¦.
Fucking tiny
Have you seen the prices of new cars these days?
I am trying to summonup the enthusiasm for a new car hunt as my is due for replacement in 6 months.
Wandered in to BMW and the first thing I see is a 3 series for Ā£50k - and it wasnāt the M3 - WTF
I also came across a £200k Range Rover
Audi A8? £100k
I left and came home for a bit of a sulk - it going to take me a while to get over the shock
Weāre being nudged.
Lease mateā¦if youāre VAT registered its quite affordable.
Nationwide Vehicle Leasing.
Donāt know anyone who buys new (apart from me last car ) Lease deals are the way to go imho.
Nationwide Vehicle Contracts is the firm I used.
Worked out Ā£150 per month cheaper than the ābest offerā from the manufacturer. Over 3 years, thatās a shit load better.
Just buy a 4 year old Hyundai I30 Estate and stop whingeing
The ex-wife bought a Hyundai new, years ago. Didnāt cover many miles so there was never much point in replacing it, in ten years it had about 30k on the clock and the bodywork was still good.
But⦠when the little things start failing, parts are quite stunningly expensive. New power steering hose in about 2015, Ā£240 plus vat, and there arenāt any generic options. Quite a few other bits for it were at least five times dearer than similar parts for other makes, the mechanic used to be in shock when he looked up parts for it.
My ancient Honda is good though. Parts not expensive, and it rarely needs anything.
This top end of the Kia range of EV6ā¦if you want something a little more docile it is of course cheaperā¦
I just noticed Nationwide are now offering āUsed Leaseā cars. Not sure if theyāve been doing that before but today was the first time I noticed it.
That is a bonkers car. As he says, Electric, spacious, practical, more powerful than a Lambo and 0-60 in 3.5 seconds.
But do you really need to get away in 3.5 seconds on the way to Lidl?
Of courseā¦Iām surprised you had to ask.
Tbh. when I see the ads saying Lidl has Brit stuff in stock I could do with one, Perhaps the winnings from the Sweepstake can pay for it
No, but obviously on the way out
Youāre supposed to give those to charity Phil. Thatās what Iād planned to do.
I was shocked to see @lifeintheslowlane driving his Karmann Ghia down Hiltingbury Road earlier today. Taking her out in this weather mate?? I just hope you didnāt float her through the floods in Baddesley Road en route.
You mean thereās ANOTHER black Karmann Ghia in the area?
Iāve just been out to check my KG is still in my garageā¦it is. I wouldnāt take it out on wet roads.
There is. I just assumed it was you.
Looked in excellent condition, too.
