Michael Andrew’s soundtrack for Donny Darko - if only for his reworking of Tears For Fears’ Mad World - probably one of the best reworks of an original song ever - IMHO
Have a listen an see what you think.

That wasn’t for your benefit, it was a warning for all the people who could be buying a 2nd hand trumpet soon in the South West London area you trumpet.
Brilliant yet again. You should be on TV with chat like that.
Bazza and Cherts, you’ve both got shit banter. Can we get back to talking about movie scores please?
True story.
I wholeheartedly agree.
I’ve heard critics say the score to David Lynch’s ‘Eraserhead’ is really effective and helps make the film what it is, anyone seen it?
Really like the stuff done by ex-PWEI man Clint Mansell - A lot of Aronofsky’s stuff- Pii, Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain, and also Moon spring to mind.
“saw” the film back in my student days under the influence of a psychotropic substance - not one of my greatest moments, so I’ve been told. Don’t remember the soundtrack or much of the film - sorry.
That is one weird film I have never seen, they don’t do anything for me, shock viewing.
I appreciate the feedback nontheless
Only seen The Fountain once about 5 years ago, and to be honest I was more drawn to Sam Rockwell’s performance in Moon to notice the score, I’ll have to re-watch them
Very industrial with the odd twisted song in the mix, very much a part of the film, although the sound design is where Lynch really makes his films rather than the soundtracks.
I assume by the Transformers series you mean Stan Bush’s rendition of “The Touch” from the original animated movie rather than the Bayformer shit that’s been spat out over recent years
Which leads me to the films of Paul Thomas Anderson and the scores Jon Brion did for his early films and those Jonny Greenwood has done since “There Will Be Blood” radically different approaches, but both really good and suited to their respective films.
Oddly I’ll add a soundtrack for a film I’ve never seen - Yann Tiersen’s Amelie.
Love that accordion / French peasant sound…
And
As I love everything about this film, I suppose it’s no surprise this came into my mind.
Carter Barwell’s Miller’s Crossing.
My absolute favourite soundtracks are composed by Randy Edelman…“Gettysburg” and “Last of the Mohicans”…wonderful stuff!
