So it appears that we now have Prime Minister and Chancellor at loggerheads and pulling in different policy directions.

I know Blair and Brown wasted years on retaining or attaining the PM spot, but they were not that ideologically opposed.

The funny thing is that Hammond and May probably aren’t either, but she was hand delivered a Big Book of Brexit last year (namely the UKIP 2015 manifesto) and decided that was what the people wanted, even though less than four million people actually voted for UKIP then.

Downing Street has sought to rein in Chancellor Philip Hammondin an apparent attempt to prevent Brexit divisions descending into a cabinet civil war.

Theresa May’s official spokesman made clear that freedom of movement will end in March 2019, despite previous indicationsfrom Mr Hammond that a similar system could continue after Brexit.

The No 10 spokesman said further details of exactly how the UK will manage immigration would be published in due course, but said it would be “wrong to suggest” freedom of movement would continue unchanged.

British Gas will increase electricity prices by 12.5% from 15 September, its owner Centrica has said, in a move that will affect 3.1 million customers.

It’s a complete self-serving shambles. We have a divided party, doing anything to stay in power, whilst fighting internally and ignoring the problems their stance is going to cause us with the EU(i won’t mention the goodbye NHS note May delivered on the Andrew Neil interview during the election), all so they can scrap every protection we have and sell us to the highest bidder.

This, is damming. Almost as if doing the job they are paid for has been long forgotten.

Theresa May is “staring into the abyss” of Brexit by placing party over national interest, former senior civil servants have claimed.

Nicholas Macpherson, a crossbench peer and former head of the Treasury, told the Financial Times: “All too frequently in the last year the national interest has been subordinated to party interest.”

They will destroy this country if they are allowed to see their version of brexshit through.

The state of the Tory party is pretty much laid bare. The only thing they can collectively agree on is some consensual hallucination bullshit about Corbyn pledging to bin off existing student debt.

Meanwhile, they’ve turfed their own manifesto into the bin (which tbf, is where most of it belongs). The energy cap was one of the few policies she didn’t nick from UKIP. She nicked this from Ed “Bacon Sandwich” Miliband.

Good points @pap

Does anyone else feel relieved they’ve all buggered off to Chiantishire (or wherever) for the summer"

My blood pressure is lower and Mrs C_S has delayed enrolling me on an anger management course…

The great hope, of course, is that Theresa May will have an epiphany when she’s out on her hiking holiday and actually do something for the good of the country.

Unfortunately, history shows that she’ll do anything to maintain her position.

The facehuggers in the Alien movies are not as motivated in their mission as Theresa is in hers.

Are you not worried @pap ?

More than one has said, whatever happens in the party, there must not be an election before the madness is finalised. It’s fine saying a change of government can sort it out, but how much will be destroyed before that change and how hard in reality would it be to change it back?

This could destroy millions of lifes(yes, even more than at present). It’s a completely fucked up situation, at the worst possible time, with the absolute worst people in charge.

On the bright side, tories that want to be sensible about leaving, are apparently moving to Labour(not really tories then, no true tory could do that, they’re far too tribal). Unfortunately Mr brightside isn’t in charge, so we’re fucked.

The only person I’m really worried about is Theresa May. The only thing she hasn’t really u-turned on is an authoritarian streak, which has resulted in a near surveillance state.

Get that twat out, get another twat in who’ll want to prove his or her mandate, then get them out. That’d be my preferred order of things.

Surveillance will happen whichever of them are in power(it’s in their business interests).

But they seem to be making it clear that whichever of the them takes over, they are not going to risk an election before they finalise our new business friendly laws(poverty and early death for the majority).

Believe me, i’m gutted(I said Nov 16th). Millions of peoples lives ruined, because they believed a series of lies.

The biggest failing of mankind. Our inability to accept how easily fooled we are(the more intelligent people think they are, the worse it gets(I think i’ve just said i’m an an idiot(ignore that))).

Although it could go like this.

Unfortunately, we are still fucked.

The fucking state of this coward

Downing Street says Donald Trump’s statements are ‘a matter for him’ after he fails to directly condemn white supremacists

I’d go further than that headline as well. Trump defended, not refused to condemn, literal Nazi’s.

I haven’t been follow this story v.closely, or at all tbh, but I read that article and all it said was "President Trump sparked anger from his own party after saying he condemned “hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides, on many sides”

Has he said something More Worse?

The Orange One is simplistic - nay Simple if that doesn’t offend simple people.

What he wanted to say was - It takes 2 to cause trouble - which is actually true.

Unfortunately for him, one side was “Right Wing” and one side was “Left Wing” so of course he gets battered because he didn’t blame the “Right Wing” people - media simply burn any NON NAZI HATERS at the Stake. In fact they burn anyone who does NOT say I HATE NAZIs.

So basically he fell into a perfectly executed trap. Nothing he said would have been the right thing because then he’d be a Nazi.

Simples
