Depends where you are. We’re having last Thurs to Sun off. 4 days. Kids go back to school on Monday as far as I know
Well then if people had Thursday off that’s news to me. My wife and I were both working.
UK Bank Holidays- but depending where/what industry you work in the UK you may not have had the day off…
…sorry, I’m not sure why you don’t understand this.
It’s because I’ve been putting “Jubilee bank holiday date” in to Google and it’s been telling me only one day - the Friday is the jubilee bank holiday. However now you’ve sown the doubt in my mind further inspection has revealed that the end of June bank holiday was moved to the Thursday so it’s therefore not technically a jubilee bank holiday but still a bank holiday so Google didn’t bother to mention it.
The big street party thing is supposed to be today
We did ours Thursday because everyone was about. Actually I am glad we did now looking at the weather
And because everyone enjoyed themselves so much we are going to have an annual street party - turns out we just like getting together and having a laugh and a drink
If it’s any consolation, my diary had Monday listed as the Spring Bank Holiday with nothing mentioned for the Thursday. (Not that it makes any difference to me, I worked both bank holidays and yesterday.) I don’t know when they moved the Monday one but it was presumably after my diary was printed.
Well, call me unpatriotic if you must, but I am finding the 70th year of her majesty’s reign not much different from the year she was doing 69.
Just caught a glimpse of the parade at pall mall
There is a woman in the royal box that has fallen asleep - unfortunately for her she is sat directly behind Charles so is in shot every two minutes
She is going to die of embarrassment when she wakes up and realises
I did that 2 minutes after it started.
I posted on FB
FFS Rod you could have brushed your hair
And FFS I sing that better at Karaoke.
I then had mates from US, Aus, UK, Dubai and here all chip in and reply.
Yep, you do…
Me and the bird have been watching the concert on catch up, her more than me while I’ve been in charge of tonight’s haute cuisinerie. Some of the vocals have been painfully off pitch, really badly out. Mentioned it to my beloved, she’s got an excellent ear for pitch, she said she’d noticed too, and that a lot of the singers have been fiddling with their earpieces, and she’s right. I reckon there was an issue with their foldback.
Also felt sorry for poor old Rod, having to torture himself on Neil Diamond. Thought Duran were good.
Edit, now onto Diana Ross. She’s absolutely spot on, and without an autotune.
Thought Alicija Keys nailed it.
Rocking up at the Jubilee & singing New York…
Missing Diana at Glasto is the only regret I have about not getting tickets this year
Phew, lucky I missed this
I was wryly amused when she fed into the song by declaring that she’d flown into London and it’s sooo like New York. Except minus the rigidly structured commercialisation of every single human interaction, and the guns.
(she didn’t actually say that last bit but I’d like to think she would have, given time.)
