Now honeslty the way I see it, is that we have had a great manager in Koeman (and he has been great), he got us into Europe with a 7th place finish and the money that comes with that in the league and being in Europe. Again the season just gone he gets us into 6th and the money that comes with that and also into the Europa League group stages and that money that comes with this.
Everton pay £5 million, which means really over the 2 years, he has been a success for us, for the money value of NOTHING! good business that is!

The only way to survive in the top division, outside of the teams with silly money, is with a sensible, sustainable set up like we have. As SFCsim said above this is a sound financial decision for us, all be it dissapointing. Fans will always want crazy money spent in the pursuit of a trophy. Sometimes it pays off but the glory is passing. I’m happy noone caved and matched the stupid offer or for that matter promised him endless money in transfers. That way division 2 and a carpark owned by tescos lies.
