Southampton are set to complete the loan signing of Kyle Walker-Peters from Tottenham .
The clubs have agreed in principle the terms of a deal for the rest of the season.
The right-back had a medical on the south coast yesterday, with Saints set to beat Crystal Palace to his signature

I cant think this deal is worth £5m to the club unless Vallery is now back in training and ready for the first team because surely the new lad WP will need time to bed in. This is just seems obstructive and penny pinching from the accountant at the top.

Loaning this chap in with no option to buy and loaning Cedric out is daft, if you ask me. If this is the end of our window then it will have been very poor.
Cedric is out of contract at the end of the season so would go for nothing. This is £5m up front plus his wages paid.
Having said that, I don’t think it would have been done if we hadn’t strung a few results together.
KWP looks a good prospect, can play right or left back, and is worth a go. If he beds in well we could pick him up for £15m. If he proves to be shit we are under no obligation.
All looks pretty sensible to me, particularly if Valery is not far off.

If this chap is any good then spurs will keep him. We’re just giving him match practice, saving them the risk. We’ve just traded some full backs and ended up worse off. We are now weaker in one part of the pitch for the sake of a few million quid.

If Walker-Peters has a good time here, we may get him at some point in the future. Would not be surprised if it is this summer. Mourinho’s going to want to bring his band of mercenaries in. Plus I can’t imagine him being particularly nice to work for, especially these days.

If he beds in well, he’ll have proved himself in the prem, increased his value, and unless there’s some sort of gentleman’s agreement we’ll have to pay more than 15m.
This is levy’s deal, remember. Nothing ever leaves tottenham looking like a bargain.
