Now hereās a sure fire way of getting your head kicked in
To be fair last time I was in Edinburgh I didnāt think the terrain justified a SUV
Only to run Scots over?
Fair point
Two of the eco-activists ā Nathan McGovern, 22, and Louis McKechnie, 21 ā posted a video in which they talk about having been chained to pipes at the Grays oil depot for more than a day and breathing in asbestos as a result.
āWeāve been up here over 30 hours, havenāt slept, havenāt felt safe, had a panic attack a while back, itās really uncomfortable,ā said McKechnie.
Personally I would leave them up there
Saw this earlier, made me smile.
Madness
Trump might as well be President - who is running the US - the Supreme Court or the law makers in Congress and Senate?
Sadly theyāre the same people.
Aged well, havenāt they.
I see that the ecocunts have blocked the M25 by Heathrow - apparently they will be doing this all week
Sounds good, although with a production rate of 95 litres per hour weāll need a lot of them.
Donāt worry, weāll be cracking sustainable nuclear fusion any day soon
Given that there is the potential of £500pm energy bills this month, do we need to pause the net zero campaign?
Should we start fracking and mining coal again until such time as we have developed sustainable, reliable alternative energy sources?
Itās an interesting question. I donāt know for sure, but i suspect it would take a long time to get those sources up and running and i suspect unless you actually burn coal at home, the processing of coal extraction into energy has long since been mothballed or demolished. Happy for it to be proved otherwise, however as this is just imho. The current momentum is with solar / wind as alternative sources and these could be ramped up with more ease i guess.
The real reason energy prices are so high are due to market forces and subsequent price setting by those with vested interests. There was a substantial increase before Putin invaded Ukraine and obviously his actions have exacerbated the price and supply problems Europe already had. Government intervention through windfall taxation on excessive profits to subsidize the bills of the most needy would be far more effective, but that wont happen anytime soon.
The problem with renewables is reliability of supply and storage of excess power - we havenāt cracked that yet
I thought we have done that on all the energy companies - 25%??
I know you lot are a bit more aware of the rest of the world than the average Brit, but that question is being asked by EVERYONE.
Right now, Poland is cranking back up coal mining and pulling some Power Stations out of Mothballs. We should be OK and able to cope come the Winter. We are also talking about leasing the German Nuclear Power Plants - they still function, the Germans donāt use the Power.
Now THEY will have problems that make yours seem insignificant as they are in a real mess, not enough Gas Storage points, no real LPG terminal on their coastline and their Green credentials (like you) demolished most of their legacy plants) It was all too cozy.
This Winter it will be all about āyour monthly billā in UK but the rest of the World could be going dark with all the economic chaos that will cause.
Only real winner will be Qatar & US who will be getting more money for shipping as much gas as they can.
(Luckily Poland has 5 LPG Tankers coming on stream before the year end and a Port able to handle them, so just need to avoid getting Nuked now)
