🇮🇷 Iran

I think Lindsey needs to know that it was outside the airport not in it.

Iran did invade Iraq after 1979
Just saying.

Your first statement would be correct if you put the two countries the other way around.

You have been reading the fake news again Iran attacked first.

Actually, I remember it well from the time. Can you find an authoritative source that states that Iran was the initial aggressor?

The revolutionary guard news does state that Iran crossed the border into Iran and fired there missiles at the Baghdadi infidels in the first exchange of the Irani / Iraqhi war of the early 80

And was this before or after Saddam Hussein had declared war on and invaded Iran?

Not an independent source?

Not sure if this is in @Pap’s timeline but this is from the Wikipedia page about the Iran Iraq war

After the Iranian Revolution

Tensions between Iraq and Iran were fuelled by Iran’s Islamic revolution and its appearance of being a Pan-Islamic force, in contrast to Iraq’s Arab nationalism. Despite Iraq’s goal of regaining the Shatt al-Arab, the Iraqi government initially seemed to welcome the Iranian Revolution, which overthrew Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who was seen as a common enemy. It is difficult to pinpoint when tensions began to build, but there were frequent cross-border skirmishes, largely at Iran’s instigation.

Usual caveat that it is Wikipedia

I have no doubt this bloke has been a royal pain in the arse for the US for years and has not been entirely helpful in respect of regional peace - plus from all accounts he was a very charming and charismatic mutha, makes him a properly dangerous opponent.

But a drone strike?

The yanks are claiming he was orchestrating all sorts of mischief which would have resulted in attacks on US personnel - if this is true, then maybe they have a point. Why not wallop the bloke at the top giving the orders and not the poor sods who end up getting killed carrying them out.

If it is not true, then trump has gone bananas and has just fucked the region completely for some spurious reason.

Oh and fuck going to the World Cup in Qatar, particularly if we get the US at any point

Fucking hell. Is this Rise of Skywalker or something?

As if by magic the world has stopped talking about Trump’s impeachment!
And finally a statement from our Prime Minister.

I think Barry needs to know that his sources are always wrong.

“The US hit the two cars, carrying Soleimani and the al-Muhandes protection team, when they were still inside the airport perimeter and were slowing down at the first check-point.”

Wonderful that the Iranians said they had lots of targets to choose for their retaliation.
And so encouraging that Donny is aiming at 52 Iranian targets.
Kinda glad I’m not in the sandpit these days

Dominic Raab has just done an about turn and now says the UK is on the “same page” as the USA regarding Iran. It didn’t take long for the Tory bootlickers to fall into line, the US says ‘jump’ and the UK government says ‘how high’. This is what real vassaldom looks like, a couple of phone calls from Washington and hey presto, we are on the same page. No doubt Johnson was informed that if the UK wants any trade deal post Brexit then it must bark loudly in support of all US actions like the snivelling little poodle it is. But i suppose we shouldn’t be surprised, we were told that Johnson would be Trump’s lapdog if he became PM and so it has proved, we are throwing in our lot with a war criminal and terrorist…
The UK have chosen to be on the wrong side of history again, along with our new allies, the US, Israel and Saudi Arabia we are alone in all aspects of foreign policy. The USA will throw us away once they have got all they need from us,the EU will not be interested in the UK anymore, and in reality there are no other civilized countries to turn to.
