Like the game, I guess there wasn’t a happy ending.
Fuuuuuckk. It was almost brilliant. What a first half, bossing it at the San Siro. Then we get taught a lesson. In European football, you have to take your chances cos the other side will sure as hell take their.
The game changed when Long went off. It looked like Inter stopped defending deep, pushed up and swamped the midfield, and we looked pretty clueless trying to break them down. Then we got a masterclass in Italian time wasting.
Fab if long day. I have to hand it to the Sports Options mob. Really easy, no drama from Bournemenouth to the San Siro. Would definately recommend especially as they are cheaper than the official lot.
Final bonus of the day, whilst waiting in the immigration queue in Bournemouth , the saints plane arrived and the lads walked in, although they did jump the queue. Cunts.
What a night that was and so close to being the greatest ever. Proud of everyone associated with the club.
Memories will never fade.
Stunning trip result didn’t dampen to oooooooh much
I think the occasion got the better of us. We were all over them first half, “like a home team” as the commentator remarked.
I don’t think we’ve got too much to worry about in terms of qualification. Fucking gutted not to get something, but very proud of the way the team performed.
we
need
a
striker
who knows where the goal is!!
Really thought we would take the points last night. Still, it is a measure of how far we have come in the last few years that we now feel deflated at losing 1-0 at the San Siro!
Had we not sold our two top scorers, or if Jay Rod had 10 more starts under his belt, we would have won 3-0 easily. Proud but still totally gutted.
I’ve also felt that we are understrength up front when it comes to fixture congestion, but I’m not sure that Pelle was the patron saint of clinical finishing.
A bit harsh for Dowie to blame McQueen for the goal because he didn’t communicate with his internationally-experienced colleagues who were meant to be doing the actual marking?..
I guess that taking cheap shots at young players is just the ugly face of punditry.
Well that is correct they dont come uglier than Davros.
Just back. What an experience. Gutted about the result, but cannot believe how we bossed an (albeit poor) Inter side on their own turf.
Has anyone seen an ‘official’ attendance figure? Can’t find one anywhere, it looked less than the 25k predicted.
They said during the match last night that it was 20k with 8k Saints fans (and, boy, could you hear them)
What a fantastic experience - as others have said we were incredibly unlucky not to have the game wrapped up by half time, perhaps starting Austin and bringing Long on later would’ve been a better set-up in hindsight as we needed someome to drag players about and create space in the latter stages.
Great support, although not quite as boisterous as some were expecting - perhaps if more than 30 Inter fans had bothered to turn up it may have been different
Anyone know if Barry got in ?
He’s not been posting today so can only assume he is keeping an Italian inmate’s dick warm…
He’s been working his ‘charm’ then
