17 million good guys and gals - its not the 17 million that I am having a go at- its the proportion of those who voted Leave because of immigratuon that are being criticised. Because whilst a mature discussion on this subject should be welcomed, its impossible to have when there has been years of misinformation, and lies spread on this subject by the likes of UKIP and worse for many years… All people have the right to vote. I am just criticising the the reasons WHY they voted as the did - please get your facts straight on this, as there is a fundemental difference.
I also stand by my comments - some of the voters are idiots and some are racists - and many just can’t grasp complex issues.
You can deny it all you want, and you can label posters as arrogant, but that is fact.
Perhaps it isn’t the voters’ fault, the different sides should have been more honest in their campaigns rather than going for the fear vote to attract the simple.
I agree I think that both campaigns were very poor and it was only in the last few days when Remain seemed to get their act together. Interesting that there is a petition going the founds calling for a second vote as the gap was so small. Can’t see that happening though.
Already the announcement of redundancies in London. Several thousand and its still day one.
Someone in my work last night…‘I don’t know which way to vote. I like going to France so want to vote in. But if we vote out then we’ll get a new hospital every week, which is a really good thing’.
Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of ill informed tabloid-led people like this voted yesterday and decided the future of this country and the future of the country my children will grow up in. Fucking morons. Fuck you, David Cameron, for giving in to a handful of fucking ideological nutjobs and forcing us down this path. And fuck old people too.
Already? It is going to take a while for us to leave. Why lay people off so soon ?
I’ve just seen a new stat about yesterday
75% of 18-25yr olds did not turn up to vote
On a more positive note, given that I am 62 I readilly concur with that last statement!!

I hear what you say Ottery but this was a massive decision with massive consequences, and when you hear some of the reasons that people have given for voting leave it really is worrying. Apart from some of the posts on here I have lost count of the number of people who said they were voting leave to keep the immigrants out. No reasoned arguments about the economy or sovereignty etc. Just we need to keep the migrants out. Yes, I don’t like the decision and yes I have been condescending about some leave voters, but given their thought process and the enormity of what has just happened, I stand by my comments.
In my spare time
I will take the right to vote away from those who are not up to standard you require…this will include the vast majority of our MPs, Lawyers, councillors and all Milwall supporters. AND 90% of REMAIN punters and the small percentage of BREXIT punters…
Between you superior beings (who feel they have the right to determine who votes) supply any further names/groups that you wish me to deal with.
I’m 67 and I agree too.

Maybe a group formed to vet all prospective voters

You need to differentiate betwen the right to vote for our elected Government and DECISION makers who we trust to make EDUCATED decisions on our behalf, and votes cast in referenda. Because this was such a complex multi-faceted question turned into a single issue by those who knew they could manipulate the …well no way other way of putting it, the ignorant. If you seriously believe that immigration was the biggest issue and the cause of all our woes and this was directly the impact of being a member of theEU, then you are a fuckwit.
As previously mentioned, if you are going to offer the ‘people’ a ref on this very complex question, at the very least it should NEVER be about something that has such a minimal impact on our economy such as immigration - here is a wee fact for all those that were worried about the impact of migrants. The NET taxation and NI contributions from JUST the 9% of NHS staff that come from EU member counties more than covers the payments made for all services to which migrants subscribe… but that does not make good headlines for the Murdoch rags… who could be classified as breaking election rules by some of their ‘reporting’ yesterday. murdoch whose only interest in Brexit is to avoid EU privacy laws that would make shiterags like the sun redundent.
The ‘casting’ vote in this decsion was made by the ignornat who voted because they are scared of something that is not true, fed to them by greedy fuckers like Murdoch and xenophobes and racists - and if they take that all in and believe it then YES they are thick as shit cunts.
I actually think that’s quite sad. All day we’ve been hearing how the older generation have screwed it up for their kids and grandkids, when the little shits couldn’t be arsed to get off their playstation/xbox to vote!
At least those who are too lazy just didn’t bother - I’m more worried about the ones who didn’t understand the question but still insisted on answering it.
At least with the election landslide people could be honest and admit they just hate the poor.
But unless those celebrating this time run a people trafficking business or sell white supremacist leisurewear, they have just shit in their own beds.
If anyone who voted for Cameron last year now regrets it, please tell me you didn’t just get conned again?..
And if you did - stop sending money to Nigerian princes and talking to the nice man from Windows who needs your password.
hahahahahahaha

…just about sums it up!!!

I’m 66 and I don’t.
So there.
I expect a good few weren’t registered to vote as the method to register changed last year. Many people didn’t know this
is it really safe to assume the 75% who didn’t vote were going to vote the same way as the kind of 18-25 year old who did?
it’s an interesting stat regardless.
