Dave the dish faced pig fucker got next to fuck all in his ‘negotiations’.
Now he’s told he’ll be getting fuck all else. No more concessions on treaties. No negotiation.
Friday morning bacon boy will be ruffling Gideon’s Romulan hair and opening the post. There he’ll find a gift from his European masters. A fucking great bill.
That will be the france and Germany that for years wanted us more involved and a key member, rather than teh constant pissing in… Its pre speculation that we will be all right on a leave… not surprized that the financial markets rallied significantly on the polls sggesting a remain vote was possible…
…and as you know Barry, reality has fuck allto do with the financial markets, all about confidence…
I agree but many people will probably sell first thing in the morning, a shit load to be made that way. They don’t know the polls and neither do the bookies, remain are in denial, the Gerald Ratners of politics in what they say,
“its not perfect but lets stay in and reform”, well thats been put to bed by Juncker today.
It wont change, it dosn’t want to change.
UK out, its dying and failing, lets give it a democratic send off.
As you are not allowed to campaign on election day will this thread be closed before the polls open at 07:00 uk time or is Sotonians flouting the law of the land and keeping this thread going until the last voting slip has been counted by the spotty oik in Manchester where the result will be disseminated to the rest of the UK.
Why Manchester I have no idea maybe Redslo or MLG could through some light on that one.
As unhelpful as this might be, and to expand on Flahute’s succinct c-bomb post, it’s time to invoke Godwin.
If he were British and still alive, which way would Hitler vote?
For that matter, which way would Anders Breivik, a Taliban member, an Isis supporter or Thomas Mair vote?
Not suggesting that anyone voting Leave is doing so for similar beliefs or ideologies, and I can find myself nodding to some of the Leave arguments, but it does help me to justify my Remain vote.
Well as Hitler wanted a united Europe under his control he would obviuosly have voted in Together with the European Army which he would have been in charge of so if he is in everybody else should be out.
… yep Hitler would have been happy to encourage all those eastern European migrants and welcome refugees fleeing war and seeking a better life… Many of the peoples of the Eastern EU were not even recognised by Hitler as human beings… Big difference between wanting a united Europe and conquering one to build an empire,so I sugest that in that case PS, you are bit wide of the mark
GA is missing the point Hitler would have wanted a united Europe under the control of his army whether the people that came with the territory were allowed to stay is a completely different matter. but it would have been a single entity being ruled by the Germans and French collaborators
Ohh hold on a second what do we have at the moment.
To be fair GA if you remember I was accused of buying into Hitlers view of Europe when I defended a little old Remainian lady in town the other week. The missinformation and lack of thought is staggering.
I understand and respect Paps standpoint, he has givena lot of careful thought to his position and researched it. Sadly most other Leave people I have had a ‘discussion’ with haven’t given so much thought and as Flahute said rather elloquently above their standpoint isn’t even veiled racism.
I still stand by my belief that this shouldn’t be an referendum at all. I am angry that my kids future may be determined by a landslide of jingoistic, misplaced, daily mail fuelled ‘patriotic’ racists.
I have yet to see a single leave argument that counters the overwhelming economic, humanitarian and intellectual benefits we gain from being members of the single market and Europe.
Its descended into farce, and far from being a time to be proud to be British, I couldn’t be more ashamed
I have yet to see a single leave argument that counters the overwhelming economic, humanitarian and intellectual benefits we gain from being members of the single market and Europe.
I can give you one Unanswerable Reason: If we vote LEAVE it will be more excitement + drama than vote STAY.
I think I may have suggested on page 1 or 2 or so that the biggest problem with this issue is the complexity of it all and whether your natural POV is driven by the practical or philosophical (or indeed acombination of both). Even with extensive research as Paps has done, he has only scratched the surface, and indeed I might suggest researched data that supports his stance that the EU is fundmentally flawed because it s undemocratic, and is seeking further ‘autocratic’ powers’ … but I honestly believe that from a practical perspective there are pros and cons and plenty of evidence to support both. In addition economically it could go eitehr way because we are more at the whims of a global economy (as seen in 2006/7) - meaning that if similar happens agins we are fucked in or out…and as a business your POV will depend on which market you are in and who you trade with…
…so when you discard the practical because there is evidence to support both arguments, you are left with the philospophical - Paps is based on his principles of upholding democracy - a perspective I can understand as decentralise Government and local decsion making is afundemental principle of left of centre politic. Yet, quite frankly, the PR representation of EU parliament is more democratic tahn our own system… and form The Commission perspectice, its how you see them - as a Civil service type body, unellected but responsible for management and idea… or as an unelected decsion making body… which I dont happen to agree with.
So me me it comes down to the issue that if the vox pops in the street are to be believed is the one driving most leave decision - immogration. And I think everyone on here must know my POV on this by now… I am REMAIN because it prevents those who have more sinister and repugnant views on the issue gaining a mandate for a more draconian messures - simple as. I appreciate that there are many like Pap who are equally concerned by the immigration issue and are not bigots or small minded isolationists, but hold genuine concerns over very valid principles of democracy. BUT for me the HUMAN issue of immigration and what this is represenative of, what it says about us a nation is more important…just my opinion and I am not trying to pass any moral judgement on those who place the biggest importantance on other issues…
What I have found interesting is the passion this debate has created in what is, generally, a pretty disillusioned electorate. This is a good thing. People interested in decisions that will affect our lives. I cannot remeber a general election or EU election that has elicitied this kind of reaction
The down side to that passion is the general stereotyping that each side resorts to eg “landslide of jingoistic, misplaced, daily mail fuelled ‘patriotic’ racists” . This is no different to labeling all labour supporters as commies and all tories as heartless bastards.
