Interesting collection of views, some for, some against, some indifferent
Thankfully it’s all pretty simple for me as my significant other is an EU National.
So if she’s reading this I’m voting Remain, promise!
And the day before Christmas arrives when 1 gift will be given and everybody has to share it.
Play nicely when you unwrap it on Friday morning peeps
I’m beyond worrying bout which way i would vote, if i were the type of bear to vote, which i’m not, but I’m v.interest in predicting which way it will go. I am usually v.prescient in these kind of situations, and a lot of ppl look to me as a kind of arbiter, or at least weathervane.
I’m torn tho. I can feel in my balls that it will be vote LEAVE. I mix in low circles, and down in the gutters there’s a lot of talk about voting LEAVE. Normally i discount that, cos my ppl, the scum, the benefit cheats, the detrius of society, we don’t come out to vote. We stay at home smoking rothmans and beating our wives, but we have real numbers, we are legion, and the opportunity to stick it to The Man, and the Albanian family at number 23, is massive inducement.
On the other hand, i just cannot discount Dave Cameron. He has already defeated Scotland in a referendum, and away from home to boot. This guy is a born winner.
Could be v.close. More updates as we get them.
… just to highlight for pap re democracy… because whilst its a little tongue-in-cheek- there is a point here. I know you will say that at least teh UK could change that if it chooses to, but the last timei looked the UK actually voted against such an improvemnet in democracy because it could not be arsedor understand the question…
Lie #5.4 That’s decided by politicians and officials in Brussels…
_Who we elect! Commisioners are appointed by member states governments, and the European Commission’s proposed laws are subject to ratification by the E uropean Parliament, which is so democratic it actually gives anti-EU parties such as UKIP disproportionately more seats than their share of vote entitles them to. For example, in 2014 UKIP got 25% of the vote in the UK, and received 35% of the UK’s seats. In the British elections to the Holy Seat of Democracy the following year, they received 1m more votes and took home a paltry one seat. _
How is giving a party more seats than their number of votes considered more democratic?
Well thats what the Nazi party did in Germany in the 30’s didnt win all the seats but eventually took all of them.

BREAKING: Markus Kerber, Head of German CBI, has called for continued free trade if we # VoteLeave “Tariffs would be a very foolish thing.”
That will be BMW, Mercedes and siemens shitting themselves then
Lord Ashcroft has his say for Leave!
I know, I know, a Tory peer so a lot of you will probably reject it straight away but give it a read…

I said I was going to shut myself in a room for a week and vote out. I have read more about it and the events since Thursday I have come back the other way. I know I know about as decisive as the Saints board appointing a new manager!
I just cannot vote out, as again, more people I have spoken to are boarding on the racist side. I will say of course not everyone that votes out are racist, but the ones that are will not be voting remain. I think we are better of trying to reform from within the EU. I have stood by the fact that you should never look back and try and make right, the choices that you have made in the past. I think we can stay in and still get to make more of our own choices.
I think the out would be just fuelling the fires of far to many extreme right voters and taking the country in the wrong direction. I have tried from the start of this campaign to take in as much information as possible and decide that way, but I tell you what it has been tough. I think the remain is going to get my tick.
It has been fun to try and read as much as possible, but very hard to find a balanced view, but after some meetings in the town this week, it has made things much clearer. Up here in Carlisle, I think the majority will vote out, but for all the wrong reasons.
Can we lock this now, so I cannot change my mind again? Anyone else still undecided?
I will only say this, we have tried to reform from within for decades. Hasn’t that gone well.
Good point and this is why I am a labour voter as well, as I feel a strong leader with a very strong socialist background is more likely to get the best deals for Britian in Brussels.
let me know when they get one!
Yeah, I worded that wrong. A strong socialist is what I did mean!
Um, so Gove really is the biggest fucking idiot on the planet, isn’t he?
First of he’s still pushing his anti-intellectual approach to Brexit (this isn’t really new, or unsurprising for him - it pretty much sums up his time in government) again. Having already said “people in this country have had enough of experts” , in true Brexiteer style he is now doubling down on his bullshit:
Michael Gove has compared economic experts warning about the fall-out of Brexit to the Nazis who orchestrated a smear campaign against Albert Einstein in the 1930s.
The Justice Secretary, who co-chairs the Vote Leave campaign, said experts cannot always be trusted and pointed to the German scientists used to denounce Einstein to back up his point.
So erm, Gove is defending denigrating experts by pointing to a time *literal* Nazi’s denigrated an expert?
Interesting take though, that Gove is suggesting ignore experts but proudly boasts that people such as John Barnes support Leave. Only, he doesnt
Let’s state it how it is. The Leave campaign has nothing but emotional sway. There is no evidence that we will be better off. None. The promises are bollocks, it’s propped up by easily demonstrable lies - or paranoia that a representative democracy (albeit, a far from perfect one) is in fact a Dictatorship (this is still hilarious) or that immigrants are the cause of all problems - which they aren’t, suggesting so is to demonstrate a misunderstanding of the issue.
“Take Control” they say. Well, that’s bollocks too. If we are still going to trade with the EU, we will till have to accept freedom of movement and al the regulations of the EU. Just like Switzerland and Norway - those countries who we can apparently aspire to be like. Only, we have zero say in anything. That is not gaining any control.
Think how much we can spend here if we leave the EU. Again, this is bollocks. What we spend on the EU is a tiny, tiny fraction of the annual budget (less than 1%)
Suggesting this money can save the NHS, fix pot holes, solve the housing crisis and all the other things Leave have suggested we can fix with all the money we save is just bollocks. It wouldn’t touch the sides. That is before even considering the economic impacts of Leaving, or the fact you are effectively giving the keys of government to the hard-right fringe of an already fantastically disgusting right-wing government.
It’s telling Leave has abandoned any facts in the run up to the vote. It’s now purely just shouting “IMMIGRANTS ARE BAD!!” or “Vote Leave, take control” or transparently populist bullshit such as “We’ll make June 24th Independence Day” - like that is an important issue.
That chart says we could save five times as much fucking off the Scots. Hmmm…
Bookies are giving 3/1 against LEAVE, they all seem to think STAY. They are offer 1/4 on for STAY. I haven’t found out what the odds is for a score draw yet.
I was surprise re: these odds. What I think now is that England ppl are prob around 50/50 on this, but what’s gonna swing it is all the Scots & Irish voting STAY. I find that bit annoying. i don’t even think they should be allowed vote!
3 to1 is the same odds as italy beating spain. Worth a flutter?
So, easier to reform if we’re in than out??

Jean-Claude Juncker says no further renegotiation after # EUref. PM “got the maximum he could receive” EC President says
I can hear the sound of massive face palms from accross the remain camp - not exactly helpful
If Brexit want to win they should stop making up stuff that isn’t true (cost of EU, it kills small businesses etc) and just invite Jean-Claude Juncker over for a series of televised speeches.
The guy hates us since Farage asked who he was and pinned a dread frog to his office door. He is the one person who might persuade me to vote to leave.
