Has the Brexit argument been effectively won so

You did have a choice, GA. Everyone does. As individuals, you can opt out of the WTD if you want to.

As it turned out, I opted out of WTD myself. No-one forced me to or put any pressure on the workforce to opt out.

It was in effect a prerequist for the job… is that real choice, when you have family to support and bills to pay?

Unless you’re in one of the categories that bTripz listed, you can opt out, and your employer cannot treat you unfairly for doing so.

Political Partridge…

Try proving that in a tribuneral…seriously its not abpout one case or individual, but a broader principle. You only get the real benefits of anything if you committ to it…

I do agree it’s about broader things, and that we’ll only get the benefits of anything if we commit to them.

Democratic principles?

what’s wrong with that? Are people proposing to leave for the good of anyone else other than the British? Your accusation is that Germans are acting in self.interest…well whose interests are the leave people acting in (or the remain for that matter)? The point of a union is that we work together for the good of everyone. I believe that we gain from being in the EU. I’m not that concerned about the economic arguments as I think we would probably be fine either in or out, but politically I think we would be weaker if we left (as would the whole of the union). There is a strength in us being linked together.

This bit was interesting as well…

Because after the guy looked into it - it became clear that this was blatent bullshit by Brexit

''New flyer through the door from Brexit campaign. Thought I’d look into this claim. The Rio-Antirrio bridge cost 630m euro, 47% funded by a loan from the European Investment Bank (source: the economist). The same bank is funding £280m for expansion of facilities at UCL, £700m funding for the Thames Tideway Tunnel, and £360m funding towards the smart meter roll out by British Gas. This is all part of £16b investment in British projects over the last 3 years (crossrail, Manchester metrolink etc.) (source: gov.uk, Wikipedia).

Potholes annoy the hell out of me too, but this flyer is pure propaganda, the EIB funds projects in the UK just as well as other countries.’’

Haven’t found it yet, however rest assured it is utterly compelling and will crush your arguements into dust making you question why you ever doubted me in the first place. :lou_lol:

I’ve always suspected we have potholes because of the French. I never knew it was the fucking Greeks.

Whilst you dont have Fry on the end of your CB I will always enjoy good crushing from you sir! :lou_is_a_flirt:

CB Saint is a legend around here,

If my vision of him gently careessing a gin and tonic before expressing a much needed right wing view is in some way invalid, I’m sure it’s not by much.

Gin and tonic? More like a nice left bank Bordeaux.

But they’re all back today. I’ve already voted via postal vote and have been trying to avoid it all really. So too much today with Boris and his dad (Remain) all in one news article. Then I saw the Leave video. Reminded me of the opening credits of Dad’s Army. As if people are invading and repeating ‘control’ all the time. And blatantly lieing that the money going to the EU will be spent on the NHS and a 2 sided video of the NHS in the EU (drab, waiting lots) and outside EU (smiley people, seen in seconds and cured forwever). Come on.

I feel REALLY uncomfortable watching Cameron on the telly and agreeing with him.

Thankfully he just moved on to austerity and started spouting shit again, so I now feel less dirty.

I reckon it’s basically gonna come down to vote Satisfied or vote Dissatisfied, and as they’re letting all the poor people vote, it will be landslide Dissatisfied, which will mean LEAVE.

I was visit my Mum on Sunday, and she gets Mail on Sunday, and it made me lol cos the entire paper was basically propaganda + scaremongering to vote REMAIN. Too little, too late. You can’t spend 10 years scaremongering about Immigrants and EU Political Correctness, then be surprised when all ur dumb readers vote LEAVE.

Here’s something I don’t get. We’ve had a couple of people switch sides lately, going from Leave to Remain, citing the campaign as the reason they’re switching. Sarah Woolaston went about a week ago. Sayeeda Warsi has made similar announcements today.

Now I get being dissatisfied with the way a particular campaign is being run. I think the big refugee poster that Farage did was disgusting bollocks designed to appeal to the foulest traits.

There are other campaigns going on for Leave. One can express an opinion without being affiliated to any campaign. What I don’t buy is people changing their ends because they don’t agree with the means that some of their fellow campaigners are using.

Throughout this debate, I’ve sought to make my own case for Leave while distancing myself from some of the pariahs associated with the campaign. Leave doesn’t make you Farage and Remain doesn’t make you Cameron.

Why are these experienced and intelligent politicians conflating something which for them, should be easily to maintain separately? The general public can separate means and ends. We know there are good ways to do stuff and bad ways, but we tend to stick on our principles.

These have the sniff of stage managed defections to me.
