I really wish that DC had stayed as far away as possible from this referendum, and that somebody else prominent in the government or just UK Politics had taken the centre stage instead. Everything he says provokes inherent distrust because of his record of lying and scaremongering. If Corbyn or somebody had led this campaign I think we’d see a much more decisive vote for In - as it is i’m getting worried that we will leave.
The risks involved are still too great for me tbh, trade implications and all. The feeling here in Scotchland is also very much that if the UK does vote to leave the EU, then Scotland will hold another independence referendum and we will vote to leave this time too. Huge stakes here, I do just hope that people take the time to read into the information rather than going on misleading facts like the 350m figure or that Turkey may be joining the EU.

We were in Eastbourne at the weekend. The Remain campain had a tent set up and was manned by a beardy sudent and two old ladies.
They were surrounded by 5 red shirted Brexit campainers shouting abuse at them ( 2 of whom were on crutches but not really in need of them.)
Listening in the Brexit argument they were postulating was wholey focussed on ‘the immigrants’ and how they are to blame for absolutely everything. Apparently without ‘the immigrants’ Britain will be great again, we will have a flourishing industrial economy, the schools and NHS will burgeon under new found investment and we will have 100% employment.
Feeling a little agitated that they were shouting at a little old lady I stepped in and asked them to flesh out their argument a bit and try and run me through how this would happen.
When I politely ( as I was with my 3 year old and 12 year old) explained the many reasons why it wouldn’t be great for the NHS for starters, All I got was a tirade of swearing and I was told ‘You fucking Nazi, The whole idea of a Single Europe was Hitlers idea in the first place’
Rather upset my kids
Haven’t deleted the begging emails trying to woo me to New Zealand this morning - think I may just leave them there for a few weeks

I had an experience in the Pub on Friday where I got a load of gob from a remainer, because he asked me which way I going to vote and it didn’t tally with his view. I would have argued my point but, by then I was too pissed to string a sentence together let alone form a coherent arguement.

Yeah, I still think it is this that is the real driving force for a lot of people. Before anyone that wants ‘out’ starts shouting at me, read that again - “a lot” is not “all”.
All of those arguements are stupid, and evidence free. But, then again, the entire case for Leave is based on evidence-free reasoning.
Saw an interesting piece in The Indie earlier, basically saying the public (this, obviously relates to people on both side) perceptions of most things in this ‘debate’ . Immigration is, of course, one of the big ones that peope get massively wrong:
respondents claimed that, on average, 15 per cent of the UK population are EU immigrants. That would be 10.5m people. The correct figure is 3.5m. Those who intend to vote Leave in the referendum put the figure at 20 per cent. ‘Remainers’ put the figure at 10 per cent.
There is other stuff in there of note. As I said, people on both sides of the fence seem to be getting things pretty wrong. More reason why the public shouldn’t get to decide (obviously this is tongue in cheek ffs, this thread/topic seems to have a major drain on people’s sense of humour).
