Watched the Amazon Prime adaptation of Good Omens over the weekend, and a bloody good job it is too. Fantastic cast, with Michael Sheen and David Tennant backed up by all kinds of talent from both sides of the pond, including John Hamm, Michael McKean, Miranda Richardson, Frances McDormand and Johnny Vegas.

It’s also the first thing I’ve ever seen Jack Whitehall in which didn’t make me feel like punching him.

Oh, and it’s nothing like what I remember from the book, obviously they didn’t have mobiles when the book was written so that helps

On 3rd episode of Merciless a Brazilian show set in Rio (hello beaches) which can be found on all4. Think it has been likened to Dexter but I think it reminds me a lot of The Fall.

Started watching The Boys. I have to really. My missus has seen it. Practically my entire team has seen it. I have no escape.

Fortunately, so far, it is not a chore; far from it. It’s from the same creative team as Preacher, but already, this feels like a superior show.

For those not in the know, this is not anti-capeshit. There are plenty of treatments like this in the comics, and there is a movie called Brightburn which explores a similar premise with just one superhero. That, I would recommend, but it’s more horror than drama.

The only thing I don’t like is Karl Urban’s attempt at an English accent. It’s all over the fucking shop, and is pretty much the only thing that manages to throw disbelief through the window. Everything else is top.
