Yep, they have a good selection but never seem to have many sizes in stock.

OK chaps just back from Go Outdoors with a new pair of walking boots.

Thanks to all you who made carefully considered recommendations, I used them in making my selection.
Yes congratulations to the Sotonian who recommended the ā€œBrasher Country Travellerā€ā€¦hmmm was there one?

One specification I forgot to add was the boot should look very ā€œCountry Squireā€ which I think you’ll all agree is something the boot displays in bucket loads.

Thanks for you input…

They look like they’re good solid arse kicking boots too Lord Slowlane, there’ll be no stepping out of line from the below stairs lot when they catch sight of them striding down the entrance hall.

Probably a comment for the ā€œPassing it downā€ thread, but I’ve always thought ā€œfucking clown shoesā€ (props to Kevin Smith) has always been a wonderful synonym for ā€œclusterfuckā€

I’ve worn the same Raymond Weil slimline dress watch since the early 1990s, when I bought it on holiday in Basel with the ex-wife. On our last day in Mallorca (Friday) me and the bird were browsing the Old Town in Palma when we happened upon a proper old fashioned Relojeria, the bird suggested we take a look at some watches as she’d prefer I wear one that she and I had chosen together, plus I’d treated her to a particularly nice pearl set in the Majorica factory earlier in the week. I decided to go for something completely different, and never having owned a chronograph type watch I settled for this.

It felt just right on my wrist, and we both loved the look of it. I’ve always liked Seikos as well, my first watch was a Seiko lcd, so that settled it.

Sweet :+1::+1:
When you say years, are we talking decades?

Not exactly the ā€˜Wolf Pack’ look I envisaged but it would do the job.

Whats the ordinance specs?

Probably 15 years did have a new glass installed 3 years ago

I do like Seiko watches but I’m not a fan of the chrono look. I like simplicity, never know what use those tiny dials are.
I bought Lady Slowlane a nice watch of her choosing on a cruise about 4 years ago. The salesman asked me if I thought about a watch. Hmmm, I told him my preferences and I bought one…it cost 5x what I spent on Lady Slowlane’s watch. :rofl:

I studiously avoided use of the phrase ā€œpearl necklaceā€, in anticipation of the juvenile humour employed by yourself and @pap :smile::smile:

You failed spectacularly in that respect :wink::joy:
