⛺ Glastonbury 2019

The media are forcing you to have enjoyed that performance on Friday night, it was style over substance and anyone that HAS to do covers shouldn’t be headlining, good bloke, good messages but headlining?

Please…

Well, you saw my original post so you know what the Fam C_S thought. No sense in dragging it out further.

G’night.

If I was at Glastonbury I’d would have swerved these and I tell you what I’d have regretted it, really surprised me how polished and accomplished they are still, very very good.

Not just the BBC either, reading the reviews in the guardian, independent, even the telegraph, you could be forgiven for thinking his performance was nothing short of the second coming. ‘a near religious experience’ and other such bollocks. And in any that had comments, the howls of outrage that greeted anyone who dared to deviate from the script. Can only conclude that there is some kind of agenda going on. I watched about 15minutes of him to see what the fuss was about but it just did nothing for me. The front 20% were clearly really in to him, knew all the words etc. I suspect the majority of the 80% behind them were pretending to be really in to him. In todays social media driven world the biggest sin of all is to be perceived as being unhip.

And that’s a wrap.
Listening to them on the hill.
Magical

I felt quite moved at Robert Smith’s goodbye there, I hope he does come back, they were very very good and they were a proper band.

Absolutely agree with that, as you say a proper rock band with their own unique unmistakable sound and a strong back catalogue. Who can still cut the mustard live. Quality from start to finish. Each to their own of course, but for me one of the highlight performances of the weekend.

Lordy it’s late.
We started with Slaves today. Went up to see the Glastonbury on the Sea pier. Back to the Pyramid for Kylie. I quite enjoyed it. Then checked out Loyle Carner. Up to the Park for the Good, the bad and the queen. Finished with the Cure. If on TV you can see a yellow flag with Jem and an arrow. We were just behind. Even closer to the front tonight than the killers. Awesome set.

Doh!

It’s like the kid I saw on holiday a couple of years ago that sang Despacito on karaoke word perfect.

I thought that’s all very well and good but how long has he spent listening to it to get it right??

Update.
Showered quick trip to Tescos, now sitting waiting for check in to open at Bompey airport
We got up to pack van at 4:2019:mates son rolled out bed at 8 and are not moving in their car park
Smug

The death march is over. We’re now in the huge queue of outbound traffic. We ended up staying on Big Ground, which meant we saw a load of acts without actually going to see them. Made the effort for a few though.

More than any other year, this year was the one where I realised Glastonbury is a party that happens to have a shitload of great live acts.

I fucking partied.

OK we didn’t “party” like Pap but agree we really were at a party. If you could be arsed to walk a bloody good show came to you.
Enjoyed all the other stuff especially Alien robots & shit even more this year, even went to the Circus.
Now on a massive sleep deprivation downer at the gate waiting to board, trying not to leave stuff behind again ( like my coat at check in desk)
Having bathroomed, God I need some sleep.

Happy to be wrong and happier for him as I assume I wasn’t alone, I still stand they should have played another slot possibly the legends as they’ve played many times before and Kylie got that slot after 2005.
