I suppose it’s not single use plastic.

The invention kinda necessitates either buying drinks or lugging pint pots about.

I will continue with my cheap warm cans

One of these for me:

and a suitably offensive engraving.

We recycle. Still got our official recycled steel Glasto pint mugs from 2017 thankyou very much, they cost 5 quid and we couldn’t find the reclaim your fiver stall…

Spent most of today working how to cook a full English out of tinned components. Damn our cooking could start a new Reality TV show. Extreme Breakfasts.
Once that was done turned to the how many powerbank volt amp hours do we need.

Edgy stuff

Some early general trends, looks like the week will be down to whether the expected High Pressure moves too far north and allows more Atlantic (Maritime) air to blow in and drown us.

So, possibilities of drying out before we all arrive, and possibilities of getting drenched.

No different from usual then.

Damn it. Christine and the Queens up against The Cure. Go see her if you aren’t up for The Cure.
I will have to endure Liam Gallagher to get near the Killers.

Boom, that works.

Bjorn Again great karaoke start to the weekend. The Wombats - bloody brlliant last time I saw them at Glasto and their gig to about 30 people down in Dubai was a magical memory
Back for Bastille then Snowpatrol and a choice between Interpol, Frank Turner & Tame Impala to round off day one.
Day 2 my Flaming Lamborghini story with the Proclaimer Sisters could get another airing, Seeing Carrie Underwood will REALLY piss off Mrs P_F, can allow ourselves some randomness mid afternoon I reckon, could be anywhere, a tempting TBA at The Park early evening before parking for JJ, Liam & The Killers.
Sunday - wow, now that is tough. Not fussed by seeing The Cure, but Vampire Weekend before makes it more interesting, but John Peel last 2 bands are also on the list Friendly Fires and The Streets.
I guess like every year it will come down to one thing - the amount of mud.
But one great bit of scheduling - Stephen Frost Improv All Stars Friday 14:55 to 15:55 - THE best hour of every Glasto I’ve been to and they don’t clash with anyone on my list!!

Edit.

So dumped everything into a calendar that makes 15 bands on the want to see list with time to get around between the stages, one Comedy Event and gaps for a random selection of up to 5 other gigs.

The lads will be more edgy than me, listening to UK Radio (not much Discopolo on the list) so I expect to get a bit more street cred,

the Sunday headlinder clashes are harsh this year. 4 acts I’d like to see. I’ve seen 3 out of 4 of them already.
My partner is suggesting getting to front before Liam to get a good space for the Killers. There is an hour and 15 min gap as it is between them. Can I endure his set and the awful crowd that go and see him (this is based on being at both Oasis and Liam crowds before). I’d like to see Neneh Cherry too.

Starting to pile stuff up for the weekend.

Yeah, I’m going to defer to the guys on that this year, most previous trips they’ve deferred to me following their insistence some years back that we go to Acoustic Tent to see Alison Moyet who was DREADFUL. Simply didn’t work acoustically.
Problem is I like 4 or 5 Cure songs but have heard some of their other stuff and I’m like meh, yet they both have heard every album.
Saturday is an issue, we don’t need to be up front (hell in Dubai & Abu Dhabi I was about 10 people back from the stage), also I can spend the whole afternoon at the Pyramid, so do we move to get a change of scenery?

There is no no artist on earth worth sitting through the leeser Gallagher for.
Don’t ruin your whole weekend

Options are
Sigrid
Neneh Cherry
Sharon van Etten
Marty Pellow
Others are probably too much of a hike to get to/from Pyramid to see Janet Jackson & The Killers

Sharon van Etten has a good voice and a couple of good songs. Might be a find live. Check your walking distances. Could be worth it, but i take no responsibility if she’s shit.

I’ve been 3 rows from the front at Shepherds Bush for the Killer and seen them at Koko and The Garage but I do want to be nearer than I usually am. John Peel is TBA so maybe someone interesting. If I wasn’t going to see Killers I’d probably go to Wu-Tang for something completely different.
Christine and the Queens put on a great show and I understand that Janelle also does. The Streets would also be great.
On the Friday if you’ve never seen Tame Impala they’re pretty good. I’m going to be all over the place Friday.

My youngest sent me a txt in 2017 to say Hey Dad you gotta check out Tame Impala they’re on Pyramid now…
I just sent him a video clip. He was well jealous.
I think the TBA at John Peel could be someone special, about the only acts that would get me there would Springsteen or Oasis. (Probably be Coldplay tbh)

TBA = Gerry Cinnamon maybe?

More likely The Spice Girls

Think some are hoping for Foals.
