:cash: :halo: Giving Is Saintly

Apparently I’m doing a 54-mile bike ride for the MS Society on the 8th July. Give generously you bastards (I’ve always been possessed of astonishing charm).

Buy this and thank me later

Actually, that’s a very good shout. It’s been twenty years since I rode anything like that distance, and I really don’t cycle enough these days to be sufficiently toughened in those tender areas.

Top man. Donated

This is best solved when the expensive Assos (Other makes of chamois cream are available) cream is applied by the good better half - insist that as this is for charity you are most deserving of said comfort.

I will now donate.

Surely a good pair of padded cycling shorts is better?

Think this is a given

Donated, if it wasn’t around Portsmouth I’d join you.

He needs both - no ifs, no butts

Reminds me of a bike I periodically covet before my brain gets involved and tells me to stop being a prick

There is a bloke in the forest who rides one of those about - I last saw him coming out of Brockenhurst towards Burley about to attempt the hill.

Ride completed - no ill-effects suffered. Rained all the way round Portsmouth, but that’s only to be expected and at least it kept the knuckle-dragging sister botherers off the streets. Lovely and sunny by the time we got to Finchdean, and stayed like it for the rest of the ride.

Massive thanks for all the sponsorship - you are truly wonderful human beings.

The final total for my fundraising for Epilepsy Society and Sue Ryder in my first term of office as Mayor was £2020 plus Gift Aid, now all passed on.

Huge thanks to all Sotonians who contributed, including the generous sweepstake surplus.

Fur this year, I have established a fund to support local groups such as the Food Hub, Warm Places, Community Car and Bus Service, Youth Counselling and Support for mental health.

if anyone again is feeling generous, payment can be made by bank transfer to the dedicated account in my name: G M Soul 09-01-29 85054813.

(I can’t use Just Giving or similar as these aren’t all Registered Charities, but they provide critical services all the same)

After a lot of consideration I’m now focusing my charity appeal this year on two organisations: North Shropshire First Responders and the Wem Store Cupboard.

The first of these funds First Responders across North Shropshire, which is a rural area where ambulance response times are very poor. Even Category 1 calls can take over an hour. Having a trained First Responder who can arrive much more quickly can literally make the difference between life and death

The Wem Store Cupboard offers a food share service, collecting supplies from supermarkets and distributing to the ever-increasing number of individuals and families who simply can’t afford to put food on the table. They also organise social meals and there will be a free Christmas lunch

I hesitate to call on your generosity again but it is now possible to donate through

Many thanks in advance.
