šŸ—£ Gigs

Mate in SA posted snaps from a Mike & the Nechanics gig.
I’m like, oh wow bucket list stuff, would love to see them.
Googled their UK Tour
Ā£61.29 a ticket.

Guess not then
Sigh

With that picture they should be done under the trade descriptions act.

I’d go just to see Metallica again - after I had boldly told anyoe who would listen that I had no intention of seeing them at Glasto.

Not my cup of tea but it will be an epic gig

Got coerced into seeing them in 1990 by a mate - hadn’t really listened to much at that point

Proper ā€œHoly fuckā€ moment

Got free tickets to see Def Leppard in the sandpit then some years later Deep Purple
Was extremely uninterested but each time someone else was buying the beers/paying for taxis.
Both were brilliant. Totally brilliant

Metallica at Glasto was a bucket list moment I never knew I needed

Only met nightmare were Queens of the Stone Age at Glasto instead of seeing Beyonce

Lost count of the number of times I’ve seen Sabbath, but I’ll miss this one. Don’t think the artificial hearing will cope very well with the volume.

Superbowl Kendrick Lamar
I hate that music.

But I think that was an epoch defining show

Serena dancing? Uncle Sam L Jackson?

Yeah that was cultural
I hated it but.
Damn it was good

The general consensus in just about every critique in MSM and music press is that Kendrick Lamar is being slammed for the ā€˜worst ever’ Superbowl halftime performance of all time. After watching,(as much of it as I could take) I have to agree, it was dire.

They didn’t like Jon Batiste’s rendition of the national anthem either.

I haven’t heard or seen that. Although I see the Daily Mail are describing it as ā€˜shameful’, so it’s probably worth a few minutes of my time!.

I’ve had a look at it Nottarf and while I’m inclined to agree, I’m also looking at it from the perspective of someone who knows absolutely nothing about that genre. It sounds like shit to me, but all hip-hop sounds like shit to me.:smile:

Don’t Point Your Finger was the first album I ever bought. Good to see they’re still messing about!

They played Don’t Point Your Finger At The Guitar Man. :+1::+1:

But they didn’t play Pack Fair and Square.

It is strange how the dis appears to be from publications with a primarily white readership and are not Americans.

Whereas the intended audience ie his fans loved it.

Perhaps white reviewers hearing cannot hear things in A Minor. Or imagined that was just a random pole dancer

I thought it was shit but very clever he spoke for his audience not to us

Straight outta Compton and respect for taking a disrespect beef to that level.
And fair shout to Apple & NFL for knowing it would happen

That’s a fuckin’ soulful New Orleans rendition…I fuckin’ loved it and that it stuck a BIG ONE to every fuckin’ redneck who automatically hated anything sung by a talented black man…
