First band I ever saw. Reading City Hall about the time All Right Now went into the Top 10. (All right? Stay bright)
Thursday night’s singer pointed out that All Right Now never actually made it to number one, being warded off the top spot by Mungo Jerry’s In The Summertime.
First time ever, the Beeb live streamed Friday & Saturday’s headline sets world wide.
Crazy that so much great music is hidden from most of the global market.
Anyway, the gigs were way too late for lights out here so im wobbling along happily to the summer disco vibe of Dua.
Banging tunes indeed.
Coldplay’s epic set tomorrow
Not a fan of this kind of music but Lady Slowlane likes Dua Lipa so I dutifully sat through it.
My main observation was, slick but overblown. There must have been more than 50 people on stage at any one time, no wonder the cheap seats at one of her concerts are well into the hundreds of quid.
Watch Bombay Bicycle Club’s set on iPlayer…that’s what Glasto is all about for me.
I cant afford VPN so cannot get IPlayer
Get a free one from your App Store?
1111 vpn works ok and is free
Who, or what, the duck is SZA?
Now known as the Act that bombed at Glasto
Heard on the radio this morning that it’s pronounced Scissor… Still shit though
Maybe shouldda got her Sisters to join her?
Prepping the olds for what they’re going to get at future Glastos?
Even the uber-fans at the BBC had a hard time with the positive spin.
Waiting on Young Adult #1 to share her verdict
And her verdict was the crowd was really small for a headline act. Wasn’t particularly inspiring- they stayed for about 20mins and left it late and ended up behind a load of people already leaving to go elsewhere.
I know the Beeb were spinning it for what it’s worth but I’d take the view of someone who with an open mind listens to all and everything rather than the media luvvies
There you go
Coldplay.
Glasto.
Owned it.
Wish i was there
But have been for 2 others so hell…
Just been to Crystal Palace Park to see The National, supported by This is the Kit, Kevin Moreby and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. The National were, of course, brilliant but I was really impressed with UMO who I’d only heard a couple of tracks by.
Despite the threat of a continuous deluge, we only had some short flurries with the worst being when I came out the pub having made the France penalty shootout.
If you enjoyed UMO @Lets-B-Drinking you might like Connan Mockasin too…similar guitar style, New Zealander too…
Thanks. Heard a track driving up to London yesterday. Played the other week by Guy Garvey on 6. Mental note made to investigate.
I never realised what a great singing voice she had.
