If anyone’s on O2, they started the Priority presale today for ZZ Top next July (11th.)

Just got two good seats, bit pricey but I don’t suppose we’ll get many more chances to see them. Wembley Arena presales start tomorrow, then general sale starts Friday.

Love their music.
Was stoked to see them at Glasto
Had all the Rizz of a fart in a Jacuzzi

Well, last night was a fun start to the year music-wise. Get It On, at the Mayflower, basically a tribute to glam rock fronted by Brian Connolly Jr. Great evening if you like that era, we went with an old mate and his niece and nephew who have both inherited a love of glam from him. They’re playing a few other dates not far from here throughout this year, Poole Lighthouse being one. The only thing missing was the Glitter Band stuff, studiously ignored for obvious reasons, which in a way I thought was a pity being a huge pillar of the glam rock era, although it’s completely understandable.

Sniff…been looking forward to the Jesc Hoop gig at The Railway in Winchester tonight for months.
I ain’t going…got a hacking cough that’s lasted two weeks so far and shows no sign of easing.
Fuckit. :frowning:

Looking forward to this tonight…

The Hot Rods without Barrie Masters who died 5 years ago?

Phoneys!!

There’s none of the original Feelgoods left in the band either, although Sparko and the Big Figure are still alive.

Saw this tonight in Wimborne.

Not really my usual thing, but rather enjoyed it. They played a host of Laurel Canyon stuff starting with California Dreaming and ending the first set with LA Woman, then the second half was the entire Tapestry album.

Saw The Clockworks at The Joiners last night. Catchy tunes and thoroughly enjoyable.

Just got tickets for Seasick Steve at the guildhall in November, saw him there about 15 years ago and it was fucking brilliant :lou_smiley:

Is anyone going to any of the Summer Sessions this year?

Fat old punks…ASSEMBLE!

Went to see Stiff Little Fingers at the Roundhouse last night.

Wasn’t a massive fan bitd but they rattled through the hits and did a couple of ā€˜suprise’ numbers. The faithful loved it.

Support was by Glenn Matlock.

Enjoyed his set despite the prolonged call and respond version of 'Pretty Vacant’.

Pistols covers?

I was never a great fan of SLF either tbh, but I’m thinking perhaps I ought to have made the effort to see them at least once. What did Matlock play, as well as Vacant? I quite like his London Cowboys stuff.

As an aside, they’ve just released tickets for Penetration in November. We’re seeing them in Islington, they don’t often play live so worth getting tickets early.

Will this be the first time you’ve coughed up money for penetration in Islington?

I’m taking her up the Circle.

It was a good show. SLF put in a shift. They played an excellent version of ā€˜It Doesn’t Make It Alright’ by The Specials and something else but I’m having a blank on that at the moment.

Glenn Matlock did a Rich Kids track (no idea) and covered ā€˜Blank Generation’ by Richard Hell and Voidoids.

I not really familiar with his stuff but I’ll have a listen to some bits because I did enjoy his set.

Down in @BTripz neck of the woods last night, Poole Lighthouse.

James Bond By Candlelight evening. We went from one extreme to the other, proper lowbrow pub meal in the George followed by an evening of suave sophistication with the music of John Barry, Monty Norman et al.

I didn’t know quite what to expect from this one, but if they come round again I can thoroughly recommend it. Excellent musicians playing great arrangements of all the theme songs from the Bond films, expertly sung by three very good vocalists. It wasn’t particularly well attended, which I was surprised by.
