Ha! My mateās band was playing the Park Stage in 2013ā¦and THEY wandered off early to watch The Stones.
We got to the Stones a bit late (should have found a space when the previous band was on) and it was rammed. I couldnāt really see them or even the screen by thr stage as surrounded by tall people.
Went to see Self Esteem at the Joiners last night. Fucking brilliant. Funny, sexy, cool.
The album, Prioritise Pleasure, is banging too.
The Blues Band were terrific at the Concorde tonight. Really great, proper nostalgia and a full house that actually left me feeling like the junior element of the audience
Managed to secure tickets to see the Rolling Stones at BST Hyde Park and in Paris this Summer!
Now just need Keith to not die for a few more monthsā¦
Family Goat outing to see the Beths at The Loft last night and they were bloody great! First night of a much postponed big UK tour. Thanks to @lifeintheslowlane for the spare ticket.
Dreamwife in Brighton next weekend.
We had front row seats for John Cooper Clarke at the Guildhall last night. He was excellent, but how heās still alive is beyond me. Heās 73 but looks like a cadaver. Still acidly funny.
Wilko Johnson cancelled for tonightās gig at Poole Lighthouse. Apparently in hospital
Remarkable that he is still alive. Not many beat pancreatic cancer
He had a very rare type, I think the only type which is actually benign and operable. The doctors didnāt realise it until they twigged he was still alive long after he should have been a goner. His autobiography is a cracking read.
Went to see Tool at the o2 on Tuesday which was fucking awesome, their support act was a band called āBrass Againstā and I think they deserve a special mention (in particular the singer )
Nearly ripped my lungs out at 3 minutes 4 secs.
Hummada hummada.
Wanking in public again?
She didnāt piss on you as well?
Not exactly a āgigā, but we saw Back To Bacharach last night in Andover. Excellent musicians and a great show, just a hint of cruise ship cheesiness in the patter but that was tolerable. Full programme of most of his popular stuff, and a few I didnāt even know heād written. If anyone feels like seeing it, they play the Concorde on June 23rd.
Went to see Martin Stephenson play at Heartbreakers last night. Last time I saw him play was with the Daintees at Southampton Uni in 1988.
He was accompanied on guitar and banjo by Jimmy Cole who I used to be in a band with. Also in the audience was another former band mate. Hadnāt seen either of them for over 30 years!
Gig was all seated so a bit weird. I propped up the bar and by Christ Iām feeling it today.
A fave of Mrs C_S.
Recall being dragged along in Brighton - could have been late 80ās early 90ās. Think it was part of a festival. The Zap club or something. Very hazy.
